View Full Version : Do I Need a Surrond Sound Center Speaker?
Hi, i got all my set up last week and i'am very pleased with it. I got the 'Marantz 5200' and 'Mission 72 Cinema Pack' in beech. To me it sounds amazing (going from a old Dolby Pro-Logic hi-fi) but i have the option to add a center surrond speaker (6th) so should i? Will it improve the set up that much? Any help would be great. Rizel

Whats your opinion on the SR5200?
Its very very good for the price. I got it from here:
www.hifistore.co.uk
They even knocked me 30 quid of the price, managed to get me a 'gold' one and it came within 24 hrs.
It does every thing very well, i can'nt really fault it. Dolby Pro Logic II is also quite handy for Videos and Non DD.51 DVD's, once its turned up sounds nealy as good as DD 5.1.
Its very easy to use as well, set up was simply and a well designed remote which can also controll your TV, VCR, DVD Player ect.
Music CDs also sound very nice as well, has loads of diffeernt sound modes, best is 6 Channel Stero which uses all the spekers and the sound is amazing.
Overall i think its very good for the price and the features it offers and i can'nt fault it myself. Rizel

Rizel - If you've got the space behind you - people have said 6 or 7 feet is needed!! - then by all means get a centre rear, there aren't *that* many discs that have an EX/ES track though, so whether it's worth all the hassle, I dunno... :/
Cheers Bapapapa, i only got about 2 foot so i think i'll give it a miss till i eventually get a decent sized room! Rizel
I'll still go for it even with 2 foot, the amp should be able to handle the dalaying ok, and EX stuff is amazing...
Dont you have an old speaker or one you could use from a friend as a quick test to see it you like it..
Sure theres not a lot of stuff, what whats there is excellent..
Toys Story2, Star wars, etc..
