View Full Version : Pc Pro evo help
Now that I am close to be crowned officially worst player I think its time to ask for help.
1) the through ball - ok running with a midfielder, want to play the through ball to release the striker. Press triangle and it always seems to send him towards the wing rather than thro' on goal.
2) defending above - how?
3) Use analogue as each time I use direction pad I end up doing a spin move every time I change direction. Dont know how I'm doing it or how to stop it.
All help appreciated. More questions folowing each humiliating defeat
1. Aim and press Triangle is the correct way - just press Triangle won't do it properly
2. Its a case of learning to use a lot of Manual Defending by taking control of defenders via L1 as quickly as possible. Practice is the only way to get better at it - there isn't anything you can to just make it magically better I'm afraid.
3. You have the Analog and D-pad mapped the wrong way in the Settings hence why the D-Pad is doing the Spin as that is a left analog move.
thanks for that
do you ever use x to release the striker? Sometimes I want to play it to his feet yet x plays a ball for him to run onto ruining my skillfully worked up opening!

In the event of a rubbish pass, then the wonders of 'Super Cancel' come into use (R1+R2 at the same time with a selected player off the ball allows you to take control of him) - that can enable you to maybe turn that dodgy ball to feet into a great pass if the defender hasn't anticpated it.

When defending try holding down x as it draws the nearest defender to the ball automatically - I think x and square closes down with the nearest two players, but can leave you exposed.
id check your pad setting first, make sure everything is setup as it should be.
I can't use super cancel, my fingers don't sit right, any suggestions?
I assume the default setting is correct? I did muck about with keys early on so I might have done something. I will change to default and see if that helps.

Whats the button to make a forward run into space up front? I'm forever running at defenders and having my forwards milling around just behind me when I want them to get in front for thro balls and the like - is there a button I can press to make them sprint ahead of me?

How do I score?
Get a decent team?
Cheers.
Next question:
How do I defend?

Get a decent team?
I find 4 tight along the edge of the box with one just in front work as a solid defence. For the midfield I play two wide menabout 10 yards back from the centre line and about 10 yards from the edge of the pitch. Forwards can go anywhere you like.
This limits the attacking potentional of your team but it usually blocks all but the best players i've found :)

Sorted by Hawaiian Floyd
Use the D pad but still have the joypad set to analogue = no more unwanted roulettes

That is what I started off with when using Deportivo with Mauro Silva as an advanced CB in front of the back line - unfortunately it fails miserably once you reach the top flight cos its so hard to score more than 1 goal against better opposition. And espically cos you get poorer sides in the PL, you just sink towards relegation cos you just stop scoring eventually.

Must admit Matt, when we played in this league game your wide men didn't seem to "be in the game" at all. They only seemed to be useful as someone to pass to on the counter or when you were looking for a cross. As far as midfielders go they seemed a bit pants.
