I found this available a while ago in Brazil of all places. A Brazilian online retailer sells it, but I was wondering if anyone actually has it, or knows anything about the quality of it.

A few people here have it - can be bought for £27 at www.ringos.co.uk as well.

Apparently it's a flipper (long film), uncut & the transfer is 'alright'.

Somebody who owns it should be along in a minute though. :)

And sure enough someone comes along.

I bought a copy of this film a while ago, and yes the quality is OK, better than any video copy I've seen of this film. The sound does go slightly echoey for a while in the film, but this doesn't take from the enjoyment of one of the best films ever.

If your Spanish is upto it, you could do worse than buy this from Brazil direct, that would be the cheapest option.

Horseflesh? That's not a League of Gentlemen, special meat is it?

I ordered it from http://www.dvdworld.com.br/dvdworld.hts?+BR0001+acha last year, worked out at just over £15 inc. P&P. It's 4:3 and indeed a flipper but it does look a lot better than the VHS copy I did have.

There's no sign of a decent edition coming out anytime soon so if you must have the film this is probably the best/only solution...

They speak Portugese in Brazil, not Spanish. :D

Warner Brothers now own the US rights, and are currently preparing a special edition. The film apparently requires extensive restoration, so the release date is likely to be some way off - probably somewhen in 2003

Plus Warner have to insert the special features of 'Interactive Menus' & 'Scene Selection'

It all takes time you know ;)

Excellent news and one film that's definately well worth the wait [although I would love it sooner!] for a restored release in the original aspect ratio.
