For the first time in my life I'm going to pull out before im finished(perhaps if i had done that 12 years ago id be a lot better off now). Have got a bit more on these days and cant be arsed with prevo 4 anymore and will only finish the prem games so the SL has to go.

Sorry guys for the lack of an update recently - have had some stuff going on at home and work and this has had to take a bit of a back seat.

Thanks Daz! Must admit that I was slightly losing interest in this as it was difficult to work out who i still had to play.
Now I'm raring to go again.

1st game was largely uneventful, though it was a nice finish from De Dong (or whatever his name is), but it played like a PES5 game i.e. a lot of midfield nonsense, and not a lot of excitement - a draw would have been fairer, but hey ho.
2nd game, Daz was a different player (I hope my host connection wasn't too bad 1st game Daz) and scored one of the goals of the season from Makkaay - an awesome half-volley. In fairness, I was lucky to spoon a header from a corner to draw level, and an equal share of the points would have been fairer, but I'll take it either way :D

First game was 1-0 at half time to me when the connection died, so we restarted and played another half.
Second game SS was having a few lag issues, but we did some tests and could not see a problem so we carried on. Think the scores might of been a bit different had the circumstances been different.

First game, teasy deserved a goal i think, but i deserved the win. We both missed some gilt edged chances.
After it, i tried to say good game and well played on both messenger and in game - but got completely blanked by teasy both times. Not sure if he was annoyed by result or if it is just his usual manner. :shrug:
Second game was much more interesting.
My formation really wasn't working, and Teasy went three nil up in quick sucession. We were both actually equal on shots, but Shearer was just lethal. Eventually after about 30 mins i kicked the ball out to change my formation, thinking I would get the ball back from the resulting throw in. Of course, I didn't. Teasy took the throw, cut a swathe through my defense and narrowl missed scoring.
By now I was a little fired up! I scored quickly to pull one back before the break, and then had three guilt edged chances early in the second half, which I missed.
Finally I scored my second through an own goal by bramble (although Appiah would have put it in if he hadn't). Then it was end to end stuff for the rest of the half. I played a full attacking formation, using my keeper as a sweeper who thrawted attack after attack, but also had my chances at the other end.
two fair results.
I'll say well played and good game again! A pleasure on the field of play, not quite so off it.

Why would you expect the ball back after kicking it out to change your formation?
It's not a social club, so why you should be offended if people don't want to **** you off after you've beaten them, I don't know.
If you put the ball out for your benefit in real Football, the other team would laugh if you asked them to throw it back :lol:
Looking well placed for 2nd place - it'll need some insane run from someone to deny the Greeks from their well deserved finish. Surrounded by the Big Guns of European Football, they've held on and proved that you don't need a Super Team to be effective in Pro Evo :thumbs:

What a mad couple of games. First game was just utterly end to end with defences constantly being tested. Porto though responded in the second game resisting the most intense spell of pressure in injury time I've ever produced to take the 3 points. Never seen so many saves in such a short space of time - one save from Rivaldo was just utterly barmy :lol:

First game was one of those games really - Kipp kept getting offside and I just used the wings a lot and took my chances.
Kipp fixed his dodgy pad for the 2nd leg and was transformed, taking the lead and holding it for a long time. Ever the professional, he could have chopped my forward down as he was running through to score the equaliser, but he didn't.

Two cracking games, played in a good spirit and both games were actually extremely close.
I am playing extremely well for some reason at the moment, and Hornsteve9 had the flu - otherwise on a normal day things would be very different.
The second goal in the first leg was a penalty, but it looked to me on the replay like Hornsteve had control of another player, and the CPU player just put in a block tackle. Very harsh Pen.
Otherwise , although hornsteve deserved a goal, i probably deserved the win overall.
Second leg, I played some really pretty passing football spraying the ball around without really being effective. Hornsteve just let me do my stuff, sat back - picked me off whenever I got near his box with a masterclass in defence and then hit me on the break time and time again.
He was unlucky not to score three or four, but did get one early in the second half. I then went all out attack which stretched the game a lot. He still had more chances than me by a long stretch - so felt pretty guilty when I equalised three seconds from the end of thematch with my only shot on goal.
I'll take the point though.

Couple of interesting games indeed. First game was really tough going and I was 1-0 down fairly early on via a nice Del Piero finish. Managed to haul myself level just before HT with an unfortuate OG from Zebina but I didn't manage a single attempt on goal in the first half. Second half I stepped it up a gear and though Juve were dangerous on the Counters, I was on top but couldn't get that breakthrough till a cracking drive into the bottom left hand corner of Buffon's goal from Djordjevic shattered the Italian resistance and take the 3 points for Olympiakos
Second game saw Rivaldo totally take over - smashed in all 4 goals before half time to effectively end any hope of Juventus snagging an away win. Steve managed to 'win the 2nd half' with a very quick goal from Del Piero but it was all about the brilliance of Rivaldo for Olympiakos.
Well played Steve :thumbs:
End of my Super League campaign as well and I'm well happy - my final games as Olympiakos more than likely in PES4 also and they easily rank as my favourite team I've played in all comps. Just hope they are as good in Pro Evo 5 :D

1st game was a ding dong battle, a rumble in the jungle and bugger I should have won it come 90mins. 0-3 down after 29mins and thinking it was gonna be double figures I changed formation and went for broke. Pulled it back to 1-3 before half time. Couple of changes and off we go. I grab another and make it 2-3 before Tequila walks down the pitch evades most of my defence and its 2-4. Then it starts to go better and I manage to pull it back to 3-4 and then 4-4. 5 mins left on the clock and I get several corners and the last gets a lucky deflection of the post onto my forwards head and its 5-4 with 2 mins left. Cue mad panic. Tequila wanders down the other end and a goal mouth scramble ensures which results in a blocked shot off of my defenders chest looping over Dida for 5-5. The dream is over.
2nd game was one way traffic and a host of terrific finishes and some very bad defending led Tequila to a runaway victory.

Sheva was on fire he seemed to be in the right place everytime you found in him. Luckly I managed to keep him quiet in the second game.

Soundstyle was getting unplayable lag from me (I really have no idea why :() and offered to host the leg, which I accepted as I didn't want to play a game where my opponent was suffering to that degree.
First half was really peculiar. Score was three-two at half time to him, with two of his goals being absolutely identical - even down to the exact animations and the hurdling the keeper. Really spooky.
His fourth, early in the second half was really weird as I lost any control of my keeper who proceeded to wonder out to the penalty spot at slow speed, crouch, and then just stop, allowing soundstyle to calmly walk around him and slot the ball into an empty net! :doh: :brickwall
Good game, though - and I had plenty of chances of my own - but his defence was just too strong and my strikers on down arrows.

Props to Horny though, he is such an entertaining player to play against - shooting from anywhere, and playing totally unorthadoxly (sp?) - a refreshing change.
Props too for an awesome connection - probably the best I've played on here, and for also taking over someone elses games and getting them played.

I agree. Hope I don't sound patronising here (I don't mean to be), but having made up far less games in season 5, I know what a commitment it is to catch up that many games so a big :thumbs: to Hornsteve9 for that.

1st game made a teeny weeny error, forgot about Ronaldinho, brought him on 2nd half and what a difference. Also left Eto out of the squad by accident. Things like this happen when I play ******* :nuts:
2nd leg ******* snuffed out Ronaldino. I had my chances but ******* wasn't missing his chances.

No worries mate, looks equally dodgy I only report it when 3-0 down but that's how it happened. In fairness to you all your goals were scored when the game was ok. Just prevented me from scoring my 5 goals :nuts:
I must say that 1st game was frustrating. That pen was the old trip over a blade of grass. Think about 4 or 5 times Eto was clean through with your players trying to undress him. Not one free kick. Think I saw a Milan vest under that ref's top. Not one foul conceded by you ! I hit the woodwork too, it was just not my night.

Daz_75: Never played him before I don't think - another to add to the list of those to play against if you want a good game. Honest, tough action - very few fouls in the game, though I seemed to give a few away when the Inter players flung themselves to the ground :lol:
1st game - I was outplayed - couldn't get going - couldn't argue with the result.
2nd - I came out of the blocks very quickly and scored 2 quick goals and had a lot of the first half. Second, Daz pounded my goal with chance after chance, and I was grateful to hold out.

First game was really tight, I went 1-0 up only for Kipp to score with the ever dangerous Henry straight away. Then I took the lead again, only for Kipp to level again. Second half both teams pressed for the win and thankfully my Galaticos were just to good in front of goal. :notworthy
Second game, both teams were struggling to hit the back of the net. On the day thankfully Ronaldo was in good enough form to score a bullet header and Figo added to that right at the end to seal the win.

Yep , a couple of really good games. I was gutted when that equaliser went in. But i did exactly the same thing to Richdmx in the next game. But that was to claim the win.

First game I was set on my way with a nice throw from Maldini to Owen on the goal line that allowed Ronaldo a tap in. There were chances at either end, but I had my scoring boots on and put away mine while my keeper played a blinder. :notworthy
Second game was much tighter, with the Real players taking a physical beating :nono: , which they did not like. If I could score free kicks when clienting then I would of probably had double figures lol. Close game in the end with even possession and chances at either end.
I must say I am pleased with my Real form of late, if only I had figured them out before the first 10 games. :lol:

Well, my undefeated run of results (Tequila bashing excepted) comes to a grinding halt. :cry:
First game was pretty even. Teasy had most of his players in hospital but it was old Jar Jar Binks who came to the rescue after Ashley (Cygan is much better) Cole chopped him down 1.65mm inside the area.
Second game, Teasy came out flying with 3 Jar Jar Binks goals inside 21 game minutes. My defense (including Ashley Cole) were all over the place. I stemmed the flow of goals and reached half time.
After the break I clawed back 3 goals starting with a rasper from yes, Ashley Cole, and was pretty confident about taking the match over until ..... Jar Jar binks falls down in the box when a defender breathed on him :| Jar Jar Binks put away the penalty for his 4th of the game on about 82mins. I was pretty ****** off by then and no surprise, Jar Jar then grabs his 5th via his 3rd headed goal of the game to round it off to 5-3.
Gutted but well played to Teasy who is defo Premiership material IMHO.

Played with me hosting as Cockers was having problems still.
What can I say? I thought I was going to lose this badly after he made a great start with the old SS cut back in the box. I equalised but then his Italian midfield (Cream Mayonaisee) scored from a blinding diagonal run into my box making it 2-1. But I kept it cool and grabbed the 2 goals after that to seal a pretty undeserved win.
I seem to play much better when I'm not aggressive :suspect:
Thanks to Dazkelly for offering to run this Super League - an unenvious task :lol: :notworthy - it's been fun. I only wish I didn't have that phase when I lost all form and made the last third a bit aimless for me.

People will just say that I'm moaning - but to be honest I got so fed up with being constantly chopped I just gave up and let him fill his boots which seemed to be what he wanted.
When it was fairly equal in the first game, there were at least ten nasty tackles from behind. When it's close, it may be a little understandable, but when you are completely outclassing your opponent (like he was in the second game), 5-0 and still not allowing your opponent more than one second on the ball without chopping them down - well if you're that desperate - go ahead have as many goals as you want. I'll sit and watch!

That's the bloody annoying thing about this game tbh - and I hope they fix it for PES5.
If people want to foul all the time then fine. They should be able to. Same as they should be able to cross, and cutback if they want. There are many different styles of football.
However, the game HAS to punish fouls in the proper way. Last night he received one yellow in the whole match despite 13 sliding tackle chops.
Second game, I don't think he got booked once. Tackles from behind are illegal in the real game, so should be illegal iin PES4 too.
And, I should also add in case people think I just wrote the above post because I lost, that gangster was a brilliant player with a lot of skill as well. Genuinely.

You can make use of the free-kicks you are given I suppose, but you're right, constant fouling can be annoying...

I'm not a good enough player for that - and all the fouls took place just around the half way line so i couldn't even get into his half - therefore the free kicks were never a danger......
Again to stress - i see this as more a slight problem with the game than with gangster per se.
After all, if there is a flaw people are going to expose it.

Best way to counter fouling is just quick passing and practice those chipped in FKs that are really hard to defend :thumbs:

What a couple of games, Veiri was on fire in the first and i was 5 up with 85 mins to go. My keeper did the most amazing close range save from a header right near the start and it obviosuly gave my players confidence :D
Second game i was 2 up kipp pulled it back and id keep sneaking ahead until near the end when i got 2 goals, good games and i only got see that arrogant **** Henry celebrate once :thumbs:

A very good game, took me right to the limit and took a last nano second goal to make the difference! SS had 2 men sent off quite early in the match and I had tons of chances which I fluffed. Nearly paid for it with a nice counter from SS. Was just relieved to score the winner!

The second was a very cagey and tight affair. Either of us could have scored loads and I just managed to nick on after a few ricochets. My defence wasn't helping passing the ball around the 6-yard box when a hoof up the field would have done! :D

First game I got murdered - poor defending didnt help and Daz took advantage.
Second game I had most of the play first half and then in the first 20mins of the 2nd half Daz scored 3 and the game was over.

Excellent games mate, sorry i had to rush but the missus was non too happy :D
Second game was a lot closer than the score suggests. I had only one shot in the first half, i think brendon had about 8. Roles were reversed in the second half though, and i actually managed to break down a 5 man defense for a change, cheers for the games.

Also I'd like to suggest a cut off of this Friday. Any games not played by then get defaulted to 0-0 with the point for that draw being deducted from that players point total. How does that sound?

I think, personally, that should depend on which one of the two have been willing / able to play the matches.

Considering this has been going on for 3 months I don't think it comes into it and think it's unfair for Daz to trawl through the entire thread to find out.

Well, to my mind it's simple. Give the players who haven't played two days to give a good explanation as to why by email or on thread, and if they dont respond with a good reason then deduct points.
Some of us have been playing superleague for less than three months, and to our cost have found that some people have been less than enthusiastic for playing thir matches. In normal league no problem, in superleague terrible.
I love the idea of superleague but some people just seem to regard it as a seconary competition. :(

Technically it's the third competition as the Cup competitions have always been the 2nd one.
What are you suggesting we do then with the players that don't respond in 2 days? Tradition states throw them out but I don't think that's the way to go in this league especially with so many games played. Loads of games have already been delted (we had 35+ players remember!). The easiest and least work while maintaining as many results for the stats as possible would be to do as I suggested.
But it's only a suggestion and it's open for discussion.

I will be starting a some kind of ladder league which will run over the course of PES5 for those who want to take part. This would allow people to play anyone with any team in competitive matches (which was what the SL set out to accomplish).
