Did anyone else witness this phonemenal show last night at the Royal Albert Hall ? I saw her about 10 years ago and was a little disappointed as it was too "cabaret" for my liking, but last night was simply awesome!
From the moment she came on stage she had the audience in the palm of her hand ( lost count of the number of standing ovations she got). She was in an incredibly good mood and was chatting away between songs as if she had all the time in the world!
Then she sung with that voice which sends shivers down the spine every time (she could sing a telephone directory make it sound good)
Not sure how I managed it but even though my tix said Row 3, we were actually on the front row (I'm still on high in case you hadnt noticed - despite not getting back till gone 3am!!)
The woman is a true star. Cant wait until she next plays (hope its not another 10 years). Can honestly say its the best gig I've been to in my entire life (and I've been to one or two (http://www.shailer.dsl.pipex.com/html/gigs/giglist.html) in my time!)
You simply had to be there to understand!!
