anyone know how to get into the service menu on these jvc tv sets to make some adjustments to the geometry.

Using the remote, press the mute and info buttons together.

This will bring up a menu, press 4 to go into the geometry adjustments.

Use up and down to go through the options, and left/right to adjust. OK stores the changes. You will have to make separate adjustments for each picture setting, wide, 4:3 etc.
