Sorry for this approach mate but i thought you might notice it better.
Right i am two cable's missing any idea what they are.
1.S/P-DIF RCA phono cable.male to male.
2. 3.5 mm jack to dual phono cable.
It say's in manual for digital surround connect one end of the S/P-DIF phono. Is this a digital cable (silly me it must be).
This will obviously give me better sound than just the dual RCA phono's, right?
And if i got a 5 metre S/P-DIF would i lose much.Although i need to get the ugly sub/amp out the way.

I get this all the time. Usually it's C3-P0 having a joke. I've taken to labelling all my leads, that makes it a lot easier. Although C3-P0 has taken to removing the labels.

Are you on crack mate?
yep, S/P-DIF RCA phono cable aka digital coaxial (or an optical cable) is the only way to get digital sound (assuming you are talking about taking the digital stream from a dvd player to amp)
Thank's a lot kcxdev.
Now shall i take the setup back and demand a optical cable F.O.C.
R2-D2?????????????WTF sorry mate lost me at the I bit.:D
what setup did you buy? a digitheatre? my mate just bought a sony HTK215 kit and it didn't come with any digital cable (optical or coaxial - most prefer coaxial cos they're more sturdy btw). I just told him to use the composite video cable which did come with it and worked - although i think it is better to use a dedicated shielded digital coax.
I got the Digitheatre DTS from Comet in the bargin forum. It was display model with no box. They spun me a yarn saying it was a fire hazard to keep empty boxes LOL.Muppet's.In the instruction's it give's you a box content's,that's how i know their missing.
Anyway what doe's your mate think of the SonyHTK215.

He only just got into DVD and all this HC stuff and bought the 215 cos of the looks and size, not performance. He's pretty impressed with it though but I haven't heard it setup yet (apart from in Curry's connected up to a dvd player with stereo phonos  - I was impressed with the bass coming out of that silver cube :p). I haven't heard a digitheatre before so can't really do a comparison with it.
