How much truth is there in these Leon 2 reports which have been poping up all over the place ?.
Personally, I think its complete rubbish, has anyone heard it from a credible source ?.
Either way, a sequel would be a bad idea especially as it would have to please the investers more so than the 1st.
It would be a bad idea. I feel since 5th Element Luc Besson has lost his way and havn't made a decent film.
What rumours?!
If you want more Leon then a) watch the Version Integrale; or b) watch Nikita and imagine it's Mathilda all-growed-up :p
Nice spoiler, Roberto :brickwall

He's only made one film since the Fifth Element, so it's not really fair to write him off just yet.
I believe that these rumours are rumours Jim!!!! :D
Seriously though, how many film projects get dropped in each year? I'll believe this is coming out when they start filming.

Yeah obviously,
but Luc Besson is someone who plays his cards so close to his chest, that rumours regarding his work carry a bit more weight.
....and there are alot of reports appearing in various place's to suggest that some thought has at least gone into the idea of a sequel, & that Natalie Portman has been informed.

I heard a rumour they werent...
Well, I loved Nikita and Leon, so a followup to Leon with Natalie has got to be a good idea. I hope the rumour is true.
Yeah, i'm up for a sequel. As long as Besson and Portman are involved i don't see the problem. If it's rubbish then we only have to watch it once. I would rather they attempt to do it and maybe make another great film than not bother at all.
Apparently this rumour comes from a Besson fan who claims Besson told him at a convention or something:rolleyes:

a mate of mine knows luc besson because, amongst other things, he recently made a short film for him. this morning he contacted a friend at besson's production company to check these rumours out. here's what he came back with:
I was very dubious when all these 'Leon2' voices were aired this weekend so I contacted Luc's office and this was the official reply, the x's are to protect me and are not kisses. lol. But this is straight from the horses mouth.
>dear xxxx,
>i hope this mail will find you well...
>about leon 2, i must confess i have no clue about
>this...is it true? is it not? who can tell? luc, i
>guess, but he didn't confess abything to me, so i
>guess the best answer to your question would be "i
>don't know, but i don't think so..."
>so, have a nice monday, and "talk" to you soon.
>take care, your parisian friend, xxxxxxxxxx.hardly surprising really. not a definite "no", but about as straight up a view on this as we're going to get for a while.

A sequel would be a terrible idea. Natalie Portman, although great in the original, hasn't exactly shown great acting abilities in her more recent work - SWPM being a notable example - and Leon without Leon (Jean Reno) just doesn't add up. I'd also say that (as far as I know) Luc hasn't made a sequel yet and doesn't seem the type to.
Sadly though, some rumours do come true ... I remember the hubbub on here when there was word that Stallone was going to star in a remake of Get Carter ... now that was a bad idea!

According to Digiguide, Channel 4 are showing Leon tonight at 10pm.

Chances are Besson wouldn't direct it anyway. He seems to be playing Mr.Producer role more than director at the moment (though you can see in films like Kiss of the Dragon his influence in style is still there, though he did co-write it).
Anyway he's producing at least 6 films for next years release so I'd guess he's too busy (hopefully) to do a trashy sequel.
