View Full Version : more extras @ BBFC
It looks like Chasing Amy is due for release with the Criterion R1 extras intact, there's also stuff for American Pie 2, Atlantis and I was quite interested to see that the missing extras from the Evolution disc have been classified 3 Days after the disc's release.
I for one will be slightly peeved if a re-release is made so quickly:mad:
Great news about Chasing Amy (been wanting it for a while) an affordable alternative/identical to the Criterion edition!
Also - I agree it's very bad about Evolution, it may just be that they submitted all of the extras and could only put on the ones that were classified there and then... ...But I doubt it...
yeh, good news about chasing amy altough it is one of the cheaper criterions @ £18 in most places, non of that £25 business

Apparently Chasing Amy will be an HMV exclusive

The problem is, if it's an HMV exclusive then you'll have no choice but to pay the £20 they're asking for anyway  Might as well go with the Criterion and save a couple of quid ;)

Does "HMV exclusive" mean that I won't get this title from Play247 ?

yeh, "HMV exclusive" means only HMV will be selling it, play do have the criterion though (£17.99 when i got it). But then again, it might be that they get an exclusive earlier release date, who knows.

I can't imagine a distributor like Buena Vista being so silly to limit its product to one seller - it defies all laws of commerce....
Didn't this happen with Sex in the City DVD boxset - only HMV were selling it?
I think HMV had an earlier release date for sex and the city than other UK suppliers

The Buena Vista Home Entertainment DVD of Chasing Amy will be released on 4 February, but only through HMV. BVHE gave this reason for the HMV exclusive:
"BVHE works closely with all retailers and we aim to provide promotions that match the film in question with the relevant retailer. We have identified that HMVs target audience accurately mirrors that of Chasing Amy a film with strong cult appeal. Chasing Amy will be available nationally in all stores from October 2002."
