Watched this at the weekend. WOW!
The most rootin' tootin' blastem up i've seen in years.
Even has a Matrix style lobby scene - with Elvis impersonators!
If you like your movies fast and violent with an excellent soundtrack then check it now uh-huh-huh.
Reminded me of Wild at Heart at times.
I note from IMDB that it isn't scheduled for a UK cinema release.
WHY?????????
because it died a quick death at the US box office and looks to be going the same way as Stallone's Get Carter.
I thought the film was okay, a good idea spoiled by some bad casting and crap MTV direction.

utero: Did you spot the reference to the movie version of Stephen King's Christine? That made me smile. :)
Haven't seen Christine so can't say I did, best part of the movie for me was Cox and her son as well as the unfortunate individual who got their arm stuck in the elevator doors:eek:

Yeah, the boy was excellent. For once, a non-irritating kid. The "duh" look he gave Kurt Russell when getting him to `phone the car in as stolen was priceless. Courtney Cox was good also and I couldn't stand her in the Scream movies.
I can't remember the exact scene but there's a creepy looking old guy who turned up at one point in relation to the red car who was the same fella who played the original owner of Christine (Roland D LeBay) in the movie. The car is either the same model as Christine or one very, very similar.
I loved the scorpion opening too and the way it connects at the end with the tattoo. :)
Probably worth adding that the barebones R1 DVD looks absolutely stunning. A better transfer than many triple-A films get.

and the DD5.1 soundtrack is a belter. :)
I had the R1 and absolutely loved the film especially the casino shootout and the massive gun at the end. Agree about the DD soundtrack, the guns are bloody loud and the music is top. Even Kevin Costner was pretty good.
Does the R4 copy have any extras?
R4 has 11 minutes of B-Roll footage, trailers and some of the most extensive cast biogs I've seen that go as far as mentioning Costner's child as a result of an affair!

I'd go as far as to say that the DD5.1 track on this disk is one of the best DD soundtracks i've heard.
Great film. Got it off the classifieds for £8 and well worth all 800 pennies. It kinda reminded me of Very Bad Things in its tone. Maybe a little long but well worth checking out with great set pieces, and holy jeebus Courtney was pretty hot!!.
Ditto about the boy he was quite good.
Great quote:
Michael Zane: Finish your fries.
Jesse Waingrow: You can't tell me what to do. You're not my dad.
Michael Zane: Didn't anybody ever tell you about starving kids in Africa?
Jesse Waingrow: Why? Are you gonna send them my fries?
I thought it was abysmal (and I love my action movies!) - the action scenes were pretty rubbish - I have trouble believing Costner to be a hard bloke! The only saving grace is Courteney Cox who just looks amazing in it!
Glad to get rid of it in the Classifieds!

Well I've said it before and i'll said it again I liked it, I thought it was a pretty solid action film. My appreciation of it is helped by the fact I was staying at the casino when they were filming there, which was nice:)
