firefox losing sync?

i tend to leave the PC running overnight. when i use it in the morning, it appears that i have lost my internet connection (using a netgear dg834g router).

neither firefox or thunderbird works, BUT, if i use IE or deepnetexplorer, then i can browse as normal. i then go back to firefox/thunderbird, and everything appears to be finel.

any suggestions as to what may be causing this problem?

is this on a wireless connection ? I think that might help people find your problem

When you say you have lost your internet connection what do you mean? Is windows showing the connection to be ok or is it reporting it down when you come back too.

Can Firefox still access the router config page while the net is down? Can you ping elsewhere?
