Ben Stiller is a funny cat, so I had high hopes for Zoolander... I wasn't expecting it to be as wet-yourself, tears-running-down-the-face funny as it was. Stylistically, think 'Charlie's Angels'. Joke-wise, think 'Airplane'. It was so rammed with gags and general buffoonery that my mind is reeling three days later.

Even the mighty 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back' fell short of this little beauty - the funniest film I've seen all year.

The guy in the Sunday Times yesterday had nothing really good to say about the film, but then he didn't seem to like anything. Strange considering the likes of Empire and Total Film seemed to like the movie.

I saw this film friday and thought it was rubbish. I am not a big Ben Stilller fan, although i did enjoy Meeting the Parents and Something about Mary.

I spent most of the film cringing in embaresment at how bad it was. I also noticed how towards the end of the film the way Stillers character talks is different, and he comes accross as less "thick".

It was very hard to believe that Stiller & other other lead male could actually be models and the whole film was very much like a TV plot. Maybe thats how it was designed, but i just found it a bit boring and unfunny.

Saying that, there were a few good funny bits in the film although the film wasnt to my personal taste.

Out of the 3 friends who i went to the cinema, only 1 of them actually liked the film.

Watched this on Saturday and I thought it was excellent. Its so refreshing to watch a film that provides some jokes that require you to think rather than just ram them down your throat...

There are some great one-liners in it... and I reckon there are a number of gags that will only get noticed after a couple of viewings - which adds to the watchability of the film IMHO.

This is one I'll definitely be getting on DVD... but then again, I also liked Mystery Men! :D

Just watched it this afternoon and thought it was a bit pants really, I think I laughed about 3 times :(

Not really a spoiler but just in case...

when the 2 guys are hitting the mac and the music is playing, was that a ****-take of 2001:Space Odyssey? Can't remember much of that film as I fell asleep through most of it but I do remember the beginning

It's clearly a film taking the pee out of the media and fashion industry and hit me with loads of in-jokes (just like Jay & Silent Bob) and prolly went over the head of many Americans - which explains why it didn't make much money.

Well the majority of you seem to think it was good, so I think I'll see this at the weekend.
Thanks.

I thought this was Stiller's best work so far. Loved the "in-jokes" such as the 2001 and Godfather spoofs. A couple of the jokes were a bit lame, but most of them were spot on, especially the way all of his "looks" were identical and looked really stupid, and the way he kept saying "really, really, really, ridiculously good-looking" in that stupid "east european" accent. I really loved the way

his stupid male model friends blew themselves up at the petrol station, and then they had a fountain statue of them made at the end, and the bit at the end where the baby made his first "look"

Very funny film :)

I'm a big fan of Ben Stiller but this film literally feasted on an all you can eat buffet of frog-arse!!!!

Pathetic.

There were three funny bits while I'll list below so you can save yourself the cost of the cinema ticket.

1)
Matilda: "I'm Bullemic"
Zoolander: "Wow, you can read minds!!!"

(Which was in the trailer!)

2)

The orgy where the Monk and the Midget popped up.

3)

The bit where the baby did "The Look".

Lame

It has all the makings of a cult classic. 'Relax', monks, David Bowie, dwarf orgies, John Voight as a miner, Owen Wilson being Owen Wilson and a spectacularly bizarre performance from David Duchovny. A good film.

Just back from seeing this. It had it's moments (2001 parody being my favourite) and was entertaining enough.
I didn't expect to be crying with laughter, and I didn't.... but I did chuckle quite a lot.

3 stars....

It wasnt amazing but had some funny dialoge and bits, but what was the whole family section about? Very strange...

Worth watching... Not as good as meet the parents...

"not as worried as I am about Gretel... put that in the magazine, I want people to know how funny I can be" :D:D
