It used to be 90 days after the auction closes, but not sure if that's still the case.
Let me guess - you want to give someone a piece of negative feedback, and want to wait until the very last possible second to do it, so that by the time they realise what you've done, it is too late for them to give you negative feedback in return...?
If so, good luck. I have often felt like doing this with bad sellers, but I reckon its risky as the cutoff date may not be as precisely 'to the second' as they lead you to believe.

mine is a case of im the selling it was a ticket for little britain because i could not make it!!
She bid for it and won the auction , but then she said she had a problem with my paypal account and could only pay by paypal , then she allegedly went away for a week.
When she got back i asked her to pay by another method but she said she couldn't and refused. I offered cash (sent through post) , cheque , postal order, bank transfer but she wasn't having any of it!
He e-mails then got quite abusive and rude!, hence the question
So why not leave the feedback now and prevent other sellers from having the same problem you went through?

Sorry, but that kind of argument just goes to show why feedback on ebay is a waste of time. How many other people may have done the same with this buyer because of their precious feedback score? It is time people realise that retaliatory feedback is pretty obvious and is not going to put people off whose feedback is otherwise good.
Apologies for having a pop at you, but I just think that feedback should be honest to aid all of the ebay community rather than used/abused to protect a feedback rating.

Just neg them now, you can comment on any negative feedback she leaves and just put that this is pathetic retaliatory feedback.

I've just had retaliatory feedback from an eBay shop. They managed to complete the order perfectly in the end but it took quite a few emails and phone calls. I left them neutral feedback saying that the good did arrive but it took time to get them (or something along those lines) and I got negative feedback due to me not giving them positive feedback. I'm not too bothered as I have replied to the negative feedback with the following
'Unreasonable customer!!
Reply by dfb21: Retaliatory feedback left. Unprofessional company. Avoid this company.'
I have had a 100% positive feedback rating up till now and I'm not going to let this petty person/shop sway me from using eBay.
if you go through the ebay non paying buyer process, they can't leave feedback for you, so you do not need to worry about negs from them.
she will bad neg me!!
Where's your principles, decency or morals?

So the seller has the ability to leave feedback, whereas the 'buyer' doesn't, in this case?

Apologies for having a pop at you, but I just think that feedback should be honest to aid all of the ebay community rather than used/abused to protect a feedback rating.I agree that the feedback system is flawed, its flawed because feedback is near enough meaningless to a buyer. However if you think that retaliatory feedback is not going to put people off you are in for a very rude awakening should you ever be a serious seller.
I've lost count of the amount of times I've made a sale "because your feedback is so good", sales that otherwise may have gone elsewhere. As a result theres little or no chance of me giving a neg to any buyer because it'll hurt me more than them. I need good feedback to help sales, buyers rarely need it for anything. Yes its wrong but I'm not about to be a martyr for the common good, not when I rely on ebay for a living. Until ebay change how the system works I'm afraid I'll continue to look after my feedback.
The best feedback system IMO would be to leave feedback in private (ie. so the other person can't see) and it only becomes public when both parties have left it. You have chance to comment then, but your score would not be affected and feedback would not be in retaliation.

I don't think you would be being a martyr. I do think you are deluded to think that a few negs from some idiots will damage your sales, but since you clearly think this fabled 100% feedback is so important, there is little point in debating it and we will just have to disagree.

That's a good idea. Send that to Ebay UK and I'm sure they'll respond positively.
Reading Feedback is a bit of an art and if someone's put off by a couple of numpties posting daft negatives then I'd not want to deal with them anyway.
It's not a good idea, because:
1. You give a bad seller a piece of negative feedback because the item you bought was broken and arrived late.
2. The seller knows he has sent you a piece of crap and doesn't care about his feedback so never leaves any feedback for you.
3. No-one is aware that he has scammed you.
Sure, you might say "I wouldn't buy from someone who has 0 feedback" but the problem would arise with hijacked accounts where someone had a good feedback record, but then had their account hijacked, and people would buy from them due to their previous excellent feedback history, not being aware that there were 10 'negative feedback comments' awaiting declassification...

Ive had 2 retaliatory negs, I reply to the feedbacks stating that they are retaliatory, perhaps had other buyers had the courage to do so I wouldn't have been scammed, feedback is about the only way buyers or sellers can warn others about scumbag users, If you are too scared to use it properly you deserve to get stung.

Good points. I would like to see changes to the Feedback system but maybe things are best left as is and people could be a bit more honest?
Unlikely.

are you being serious?
How can ebay care about changing the system as it is? They're raking it in on the back of bad sellers/buyers as well as good.
