View Full Version : Best 939 PCIe Motherboard for £60 - 80?

Hey there guys,

I already have a Asus A8N SLI motherboard which works fine and dandy.

However I need a new motherboard for the office PC which again is 939, but needs to be PCIe.

Now I was tempted to go for another Asus A8N but they are rather pricey for just an office PC, as my Dad is never going to use SLI etc.

Any suggestions for a good 939 motherboard with PCIe for under £80-ish?
Or even any motherboards to avoid!!

Many thanks.

The Foxconn NF4UK8AA-8EKRS got a pretty reasonable review in the latest issue of Custom PC:

It seems to retail for about £80.

Hmm, never heard of that brand.
I had planned on buying all of my stuff from Ebuyer in one fell swoop, so if anyone can point out a board from that site, I would be most grateful!

Cheers for the reply bud.

EDIT: Oh crumbs, Ebuyer do sell them, never even saw...!

Foxconn stuff is OK. I think they are mainly OEM however I have seen this brand used by Dell in the past.

I have this board and its very good - specially if your overclocking, very stable and is made by winfast.

Actually, if I buy a SLI motherboard but only intend to use 1 card, is there a problem setup-wise, as im a slight noob when it comes to SLI/PCIe...

No. AFAIK you have to enable SLI mode on the mobo, as it isn't by default.

If you're happy with the a8n-sli why not just buy the a8n-e (non sli version)?

Foxconn is fine - new name for Winfast : I use a Socket 754 one and have had no problems with it. The NF4 is the one to go for.
