i seem to be having a problem with my pc, upon startup the hard drive seems to be wizzing round as if its doing something yet i only on my background/wallpaper. after a short while of connecting to the net my windows freeze and i have to restart, any ideas what to do to stop this :shrug: ? cheers wolf :thumbs:
Have you tried defraging it? Or deleting the temporary internet files?

Have you the usual virus software and firewall tools? Checked for spyware, etc?
Run msconfig (start -> run -> msconfig) and note whats set to run at startup (ie, whats ticked.) Untick everything that you don't recognise / don't need at startup and see if that solves the problem.
Have you installed any new software and drivers which could have caused this?
Do you run XP? Have you tried a system restore?
