I believe my copy from CD-WOW has Copy Protection on it but my PC doesnt care!

Yes, it isn't actually copy protected, it just has all the unsightly logos on the packaging. I really do wish record companies would stop doing this. It's pretty pointless, and only leads to more people downloading the MP3s - and no one's going to pay again to do that from iTunes.

And why is the album so cheap already? It's not as though it's struggling ;)

Mine's copy protected from CDWOW :?: Plays in a proprietary app on the PC, seems to work ok though :thumbs:

Arrived today but is definitely a copy controlled music disc and not a CD. No use to me; they can have it back! :-(

Why don't CDWOW indicate on their website that the disc is copy controlled? It is so annoying. I will not buy something that is not a red book standard cd.

I have asked them this before and cdwow states that the record companies actually lean on them to not state anything on the website. However the same person said I could always email before buying and they will state in an email whether it's copy protected or not.

Pardon my ignorance here, as I've only recently got an MP3 player, but I assume this copy protection means I can't import the music into iTunes on my Mac, to send to my iPod, but does it also mean I won't even be able to play it through my Mac, which is hooked up to my stereo? Will it only play on dedicated CD players? That would make it next to useless to me.

Got mine from CD wow and my Zen software is ripping it no problem at all. I got the message when I put the disc in that I needed to update my software to play it but ignored it.
