View Full Version : [DVD] Arrested Development
The finest sitcom currently being made - you owe it to yourself to check it out at these prices. It's a pre-order (Out 23rd June).
DVDCrave are offering the complete Season 1 for just £7.92 + P&P (I think AUD$11).

Looks like this is a joint R2/R4 since CDWow (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://cd-wow.at/thedvdforums^QS^DURL=http://www3.cd-wow.com/detail_results_2.php^QS^product_code=19344) are also offering it for £12.99
Could be cheaper elsewhere - I haven't done an extensive search because I bought the R1 set ages ago - but it is excellent, with a decent set of extras.
Cheers,
Paul

Personally i thought that this programme was terrible. hated it with a passion. At only £8 though it might be worth a punt for a few people.

I bought this on R1 a few months ago and don't regret paying more what I did for one minute.
It's an absolute gem of a show. And at that price it's an absolute steal. Don't hesitite, just buy.
I second the "Awallace, you're off your nut mate" comment!

Wow, that's cheap.
I've already got it, but I would echo the above comments. Best comedy since Seinfeld.

it is indeed - I'd encourage anyone with an ounce of smarts to chance the blind purchase of AD :)
Wow - that's an absolutely outstanding price for an outstanding series.
Superb show; good spot. Very tempted to pick this up.
Gone for this one. Cheers OP

its quite possible - AD is very self referential - everything great about it comes across as something as a private joke, so if you can get into it the show is very rewarding indeed :)
Mine arrived this morning. Looking forward to watching it. Cheers again to OP

Fantastic series at an amazing price - I'd go for it myself if I didn't already have Xvids of both seasons. For those who haven't seen season two, it just continues to get even funnier :) David Cross (the never-nude victim) has done some great stand-up in his time, too...

Will have to see if I can find his stand up.. he's one of the funniest characters in the show :D
Mr Windell.. What a classic
Fantastic series at an amazing price - I'd go for it myself if... I think you have that backwards: now there's a DVD of season one (at a great price) you have no need to keep those files and can pay for the show instead. You'll be supporting its future production in a very real way that you couldn't take advantage of when it wasn't available to buy.

Exactly what I did. I did admittedly have this show on my computer, but as soon as S1 was out on DVD in the US I ordered it (~£18ish at the time).
It certainly needs the support, the boxset is worth it, and DVD beats XviD any day.

Exactly :)
I want Fox to continue this series for as long as it continues to be so great, and this isn't going to be helped by people who download the episodes and really enjoy them, yet won't even buy it at such a low price.

Your point is well taken, but I have well over 600 original DVDs and feel I support the makers of quality TV and film plenty, thanks! I simply don't have an infinite supply of cash to purchase everything I like, try though I might! I probably gave a false impression with my previous comment though, I agree - I do very often "upgrade" from downloaded material to originals, the recent "Curb Your Enthusiasm" purchases being a case in point. Something BTW that I missed on telly, and wouldn't have discovered I liked at all without net downloads that effectively prompted said purchases. But yeah, I should have just recommended A.D. and kept my mouth shut about the XVids :n0rty:
Less than a tenner now on DVDCrave (http://www.dvdcrave.com/products/product.jsp?pid=16360) and Atlantic DVD (http://atlanticdvd.com.au/index_stuffer.cfm?view.cfm?id=12415~content)
Both out of stock though.
Well, OK, its £11-12 on Atlantic inc shippnig and £13-14 on DVD Crave inc shipping
