I remember when wireless routers came out, and people where complaing about dropouts and crap for online gaming etc..

how is the situation now?

does it hold up against ethernet cable now?

The reason I ask is im getting sick of all that cable on the floor for my 3 pC's and Xbox, also I have a DSL modem and a router and the Netgear all in one 834GT looks a nice bit of kit for the price.

Please your thoughts and the best all in one wireless router to get

I played FarCry with a co-op mod over 54g wireless at home and that worked pretty well, but too be honest, no - wireless still can't really hold a candle to wired ethernet.

I'd take a 10meg wired LAN over a 54meg wireless LAN anyday given the choice.

just odd drops outs really - things didnt seem to be quite as "smooth" as running over a cable. Packet loss was much higher too, even with a 100% signal showing as "Excellent" under Windows.
