Help - Fifa Street Can 2 players play on the same team?

Ok me and a mate have both got players made up, but we cannot get them to be on the same team when we go into 'rule the street' mode. What's the point if you cannot play anything more than friendly's with 2 or more players.

anyone know if this is the case.
