Its in French, but here is the translation.
Here thus, only for you, the first images in-game Half-Life 2 on Xbox. These photographs snuff starting from a playable version of the software are, certainly, of average quality, but they enable you all the same to assess the quality of textures, the level of detail of the decorations, returned water or the modeling of the characters. These photographs also make it possible to support the denial of certain rumours which implied that Half-Life 2 would rather be born on Xbox 360, because the software turns indeed on Xbox. The FPS of Valve Software would be planned for the summer 2005, in the United States.
So far it looks good to me, but I aint played it on the PC.

Hard to make out any real detail on those screens, but from what i can see it certainly looks like the original version. A very scaleable game so it should be a better looking port than Doom 3 appears to be.
They should of made it a launch game for 360 - big mistake.

There's speculation about the possibility that the same games will appear on both the current Xbox platform and the Xbox 360, creating a two tiered release system, so it could still appear on the 360. It wouldn't be good business sense if they didn't have some sort of Half Life 2 property for the 360, be it the original Half-Life 2 or it's forthcoming expansion pack.
Perhaps even both in a single package. ;)
FPSs should only ever be played with keyboard and mouse :)
Dave.
you can buy an adapter then ;)
I'm playing this game on a Dell P4 @ 3GHZ (thanks DVD Forums) at 1920x1200 with graphics on maximum on a beautiful Dell 2405FPW 24" screen (thanks again DVD forums) using a 256MB X800 PCI-E graphics card from Dabs (thanks once again DVD forums).
I swear this is the best game I have ever seen, by a very very long piece of chalk, and I will eat my own ass if it is better on X-Box than it is on the PC!!!

Graphically speaking, of course it won't be, but then you can buy an Xbox for £99.
How much did all that rig cost? Even at Bargain Forum prices?

It'll be worth buying the X Box version so you don't have to go through installing the damn thing.
The Dell PC was £330-ish
The Dell 24" monitor worked out to be about £250-ish
The X800 graphics card was £160-ish
Upgraded the RAM to 1.5GB from Crucial cost £92.
Admittedly this is 8 times as expensive as an X-box, but for the price it is a killer system, and to see this game in all it's glory is as geekily close to a gaming religious experience as I have ever seen ;-)
I got Half-Life Silver on Steam for £39... after about 4 gigabytes of downloads, I have got Half Life 2 along with Half Life 1, and everything else Valve and co have ever made. I didn't find it a pain, or too intrusive, actually... despite my hatred of DRM systems.

Personally I don't think those are Xbox shots, for the reason that its **** easy to just hook up your pc to a tv via tv out on a graphics card. The reason I think its pc is because the resolution of the numbers (bullet info etc) is pretty high there, and for a tv with such a low res, they would have to make 'em bigger. If I could be bothered I would demonstrate, but I can't ;P
I know it *is* coming out on xbox, I just dont think these shots are legit.

Actually they are setting up a version of Steam via Xbox Live so you will have to connect to register your copy and possibly every time you play.
 Or perhaps not...

I've seen legit Xbox shots, and they look exactly like running the PC version at 800x600 on Medium detail.
Funny that. Almost makes you think the XBox is a PC in a box...

Surely it would be 640x480, normal bog-standard tv resolution.

Excusez moi, zis is what I meant.
And John Carmack would disagree with you on the second point... but then, hey, he's got some kind of vested interest.
Generally speaking, the Xbox doesn't have to run an OS and all kinds of background tasks like a PC does, so proportionally speaking it's got a bit more grunt to it than that 733mhz indicates.
Aha! You have removed that PC Fanboi comment! Making my other comments redundant!

Don't know if anyone's posted this, but there's some really nice video of the latest build of Xbox Half-Life 2 on http://valve.1up.com.
Looks damn impressive from what I've watched, considering how negative most observers (EDGE) have been about the jerkiness of the E3 build.
The Xbox version will also have "some" of the HDR lighting FX soon to be scrummified on the world in The Loast Coast.

Can I shop where you shop? :dork:

wow just watched the video and it looks very faithful to the PC version.
I'll definatly rebuy this on the XBox providing the frame rate won't be a problem.
