This actually might tempt me to finally invest in a DS.

Did anyone else think PSP? :(

It'd just be a update/port on the PSP.
On the DS they can totally remake it (hopefully it'll still be good)
They can use both screens for the level, make it so you can draw in rainbows etc. :D

It was a dig at your original "Rainbow Islands coming to......" thread title. As if it was going to be the PSP with you starting the thread.

As long as whatever they do they include thge original version I'll be happy (although if it's a bit gimmicky and they do port the original to the PSP I'll probably buy that one instead).

I will buy if Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands are on the same cart, otherwise they can suck em.

Urgh, a port is all I'd want to be honest. Since it's carrying the label 'Revolution', I'm guessing it's an all new game.

Like Bolch says, as long as they include the original - At least they did with Bubble Bobble.

I was almost starting to agree that maybe it would work better on the PSP with it's lovely screen, and if that's just for a simple game like this, then I'm pretty much inclined to buy a PSP!

Silly thinking of course, it'd be great on the DS too..

Same as Lou - want them on the same cart or at least cheaper-than-usual versions (a la Zookeeper at £20).

Would be even better if they could do a similar thing to the 'Midway Arcade Treasures' series on the main consoles - now THAT would be worth buying a DS/PSP for!!

Since it's being revamped a little by the sounds of it, I imagine they'll be full price and on seperate cards.

Edit: RRP of ZooKeeper is £29.99 by the way, only £20 at Asda for some reason. Polarium has a RRP of £19.99 though :)

God I love this game - played it to death on the Amiga 500 :)

Although I love Rainbow Islands, unless Rising Star Games put the original 'over the rainbow' theme tune back into the game, they can shove the cart up their bum. Sideways.

As good as a soundtrack can be, I don't see why anyone would not get the game just because it doesn't have it in it. (it's the game you want right?)

Well, not really - after all, you are buying into the nostalgia mainly, so it wouldn't be out of the question to ignore a classic release if they butcher it too much.

New Zealand Story would be even better.

True... In fact I want a card with 4-5 Taito ports on it, completely untouched :)

Best version of Rainbow Islands was the Amiga 500 version, so I want this version for the DS, complete with emulator :)

If they muck about with the music, the least they should do is include parasol stars as a bonus extra, which was a splendid game on the Amiga.

Problem with the music will be that Taito don't have the rights to use "Somewhere over the rainbow" any more, so would have to renegotiate the rights, which would obviously cost more money and could push the price of the cart up more - and we don't want that now do we??? :D

I'll definitely get it though - a compilation with Rainbow Islands, Bubble Bobble, Bubble Memories, Bubble Symphony, Rodland, Parasol Stars, Puzzle Bobble would be great! :)
