PC Spec question (inparticular half life 2)

I'm just about to upgrade my PC, which I haven't done in a long time. I was just wondering how good a machine with this spec would be for games, the test being, would it run HL2 ok. The spec is:

2800 AMD Sempron processor
512 MB RAM
80 GB Hard drive
Radeon 9600 Pro EZ 256 MB graphics card
dvd drive, soundcard etc.

and one quick half life 2 question. I know you need to register it online before you can play it, but can you do that just the once over dial up. I ask cos if i get it before broadband is installed i don't want to wait before i can play it. cheers.

that spec is better than my pc which ran HL2 in quite well at a low resolution, although i suffered from the sound/stuttering problem but only at the start of each area :)
