Hi there,

Well i took the plunge and purchased an Xbox which i am picking up tomorrow morning. I'll be buying Halo 2 and then Doom3 next week.

Are there any things i need to know like what other things is capable of doing i.e running Divx, playing emulators and stuff.

Aslo i see play are doing the Live kit for £30. Is that a one of payment for Online play or are there subscription charges?.

Thanks
Bryan

You might want to have a look in this (http://www.thedvdforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=303360) thread for the films/apps stuff

The Xbox Live Starter kit includes a headset that you plug into your controller and a scratch card for 12 months subscription to Xbox Live. You still need a credit card to sign up though, but it won't be debited unless you buy stuff on the Xbox (like the new levels that are out for Halo 2 on Monday)

You get no network cables with the XBL kit - its up to you to set that up yourself

GAME (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://tracker.tradedoubler.com/pan/TrackerServlet^QS^p=12813^QA^a=60823^QA^g=80187) are doing a live starter kit for £19.99 when bought with anything else and as people have said is an absolute must accessory for the xbox.

Can anyone tell me apart from the starter kit what else i will need to get Live. Does the XB hook up to the PC or do i have to buy a router or something?.

Like i say i'm a noob to XB and havent got the first clue:D

A router is the prefered option, but it is possible to use (ICS) Internet Connection Sharing through a network card if you are using a USB or internal modem on your PC.
