Deer Hunter- The Most Unappreciated Undervalued Great Film Ever?

I saw somewhere that my favourite film is not on Channel 4s list.:mad: Everyone always talks about the Godfather, Taxi Driver and the like when they talk about great films. Whast about Deer Hunter? I'm not slating these others but it seems that this great film has been forgotten! And the fact Titanic is in the top 100 films and Deer Hunter is not.

From what i've heard, C4's website (where the voting took place?) only had 100 films listed, which if you ask me is a bit lame !!!!

I've got over a hundred DVD's in my collection which i've kept because they're what i'd class as "my favourite films", so that sort of knocks C4's meagre listing out of the water straight away. At the end of the day it's all down to personal tastes i guess, but i reckon i could draw up a list of at least 150 of my favourite films in about half an hour. I'm sure there'd be quite a few of your favourites missing too, just down to your own taste in film, which goes to show that offering 100 films to choose from is a little flawed.

I'd seriously recommend checking out www.imdb.org for what i'd call a more definitive top 100 movies of all time. If you've not done so before, get yourself registered and get voting !!!! :)

anyone own Deer Hunter on DVD? Play247 have it, but im not sure whether the quality etc is anygood...

I have the R1. Sound could be better but I don't really care:D

I have the R1 also, I didnt think the picture was all that great - non-anamorphic as well...but the film more than makes up for this.

The R4 is anamorphic - if you dont own the film thats prolly the best route to go.
