I am contemplating in getting a home cinema setup this weekend, but not sure if I really need it or if I'm just getting it cos I feel like wasting some of my money :D

It would only be for a bedroom and not a main living room so I don't need anything really gloryfied and top quality.

I have a 750s as a DVD Player so need an external decoder, any suggestions to which I should get it and why I should get one to convince me to part with my money.

Also does anyone know if they can be brought fairly cheaper at a retail store rather than online? Although if it is more cheaper online I will have to opt for that option.

I don't really need a DTS system (I think) just DD5.1 will be enough. Really the cheaper the better but I don't want it so cheap that the quality is terrible.

I think thats everything :D

Thanks

My personal feeling is, once you have had Home Cinema, you don't go back. Sound can add such atmosphere to a film.

You have a DVD player and are not really getting the benefit of it.

If you take the plunge, don't just go for a DD5.1 system. Amps with DTS at budget prices are easily available, and you have a multiregion player to take advantage of the wealth of R1 discs not being released in this format. Just some examples for you

Yamaha RXV420 RDS (DD5.1, DTS, 65x5 watts) £230
Tannoy MXAV1 speaker package (5 speakers) £230

All you then need is a bit of good speaker wire and you are set. £500 ain't a lot of money for the fun you will have, just warn your parents first! (assuming thats why its going in your bedroom :))
