Your first paintball tourney

Has anyone played in a paintball tournament here?

Well, this Sunday is my 1st paintball tournament and I am starting to brick myself. Never played in a team before, and only played on an airball field once during a training session.

Any tips for a newbie tournament player? I *think* my position is centre-back, but i find out tomorrow for sure.

Paintball is a sport - heck it's even going to be getting coverage on Sky Sports shortly :)

Did it a few years ago for a mates bday, it was good fun, you just have to be sneaky and blend into the scenery..

We played various games such as capture the flag, last man standing (sounds more like a FPS game) but it was good, the bullets dont really hurt when you do get shot but id keep the goggles on... :)

That's a normal recreational paintball day ;)
Paintball tournaments are on fields with air obsticles capped Sup Air :)
2 teams have to shoot each other and retrieve a flag from the other side. Usually 5, 7 or 10 players per team. VERY fast games - very close too.. :)

Great, great fun, though I did panic the first time I got surrounded by the enemy and 'shot to death' (then I realised I wasn't hurt and it was all fun again).

Was an excellent tourny - even though our team of newbies only won 1 game, we learnt shedloads :D
Came away smiling and looking forward to the next one in March :)
