Heavyweight legend Schmeling dies (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/4235901.stm)

A good heavyweight, noted for his defeat of Joe Louis and the subsquent beating he took from Louis. Didn't believe in Hitler's master Aryan race and actively worked against Nazism. Put much back into the sport of boxing and will be sorely missed.

The Joe Louis Fights were a sensation at the time -- Louis knocked him out in the 1st round in the second fight, most believed that Schmeling "froze" in fear of the 'Brown Bomber'
