Went for grup + next round on follow my team (England), coz lets face it, thats how far we will get.
Also you don't get a refund this time if your team gets knocked out early like you did in Euro 2004. You have to follow the team who wins the group.

Ok - stupid question time - but, what happens if the team you select as the "follow my team" doesn't even make it to the World Cup ??

You must either be Scottish or Welsh then!! In Euro 2004 they refunded the full amount!!

I heard on the news this morning that these can only be booked if you use a Mastercard.
thats true radiohead mastercard only or you can do bank transfer or something like that

Personally I think that stinks.
Yeah, it's cos Mastercard are the 'official sponsors of WC06', etc, etc. Sucks, but luckily I do have one. I wonder if more people have a Visa instead?
There are alternatives, but hardly desirable (bank transfers, etc).
Thanks for reminding me about this. Just put my name down for group games, second round and quarters. It'd be nice wouldn't it?

So to ensure you get to see England you have to book a TST and you can only do that if you book to see a minimum of all three of the group games?
I'd love just to go and see one, is that possible?
No can't book just one England ticket yet, not till groups are drawn.
Anyone got any email confirmations yet, just to say it was ordered ok? Went for England all 7 games...you gotta believe!

Hmmmmmm.....
Not sure I can really justify going to all the group games.
What are the details on the tickets like? If I order a pair of tickets for each of the group games will i be able to give two pairs to my friends or will I have to go to each game as my name will be on the tickets? I've looked on the website but can't find anything about this...
ian i went to euro 2004 with 10 different peoples name on the tickets not a problem i guess

What happens if you order TST for your team all the way to the final and then they get knocked out? Do you get a refund?
You get tickets for the team who knocked them out, or the group winner if they go out in the groups.
I'd like to order some but I have absolutly no idea what I'll be doing in June 2006.

Woohoo - westfalenstadion is hosting one of the semis!!! Shamaniac's from near Dortmund, so we could go see the semi final whilst visiting family!

They don't make it easy to pay, do they?!?! I have visa, not mastercard. On bank transfer, it looks like section A applies to EU members states who've adopted the Euro and EFTA members. Ordered two tickets to the semi finals, anyway (opting for bank transfer). Doubt it will come off, though, as they've already had 1.1 million applications.
Blimey - that's a lot of applications! Mind you, you'll have just as much chance as anyone else.

yep, with under 2 milllion tickets available, after taking off the VIPS, etc. Shamaniac's going to have to apply through his parents' address, using his german bank account, as I could only book two tickets (needed 5!)

me too :( Wonder if anyone managed to get any.
Had a quick look on ebay but none as yet
I applied as a group of 4, is it just the first person that gets an e-mail? I haven't heard anything yet, and cant get hold of the other guys - the wait is killing me!
Argh, I realised my mailbox was full a couple of hours ago. I ordered three TST-4 England tickets ... and have no idea what's happened :P
Surprised not to see a thread about this yet. (cue: thread links to the ones I've missed  )
We've been lucky enough to get South Africa's group matches and a quarterfinal in Hamburg.
Anyone else had any success?
PS if you're German, was it a doddle getting the tickets you wanted?

A couple of German's I know applied and got what they wanted. I didn't, my friend didn't. Then again it is in Germany so hard to begrudge t hem a ticket. Just hope if we ever get it it'll be easy to get one.
It seems silly to give tickets so easily to the home nation, when tourism and the local economies would be better served attracting foreign money. It all bodes well for the black market I suppose.

I knew it!
I searched on Germany 2006 as well, and drew a blank.
I'll let the mods know.
Well, ever the optimist I've just purchased a TST-3 package for Scotland.
Will be refunded minus admin fee if/when we don't make it. After tonight's win over Norway there's a chance so thought I'd give it a go. :)
Just a headsup that you can now purchase conditional (essentially 'standby') tickets for the matches now. You go on a waiting list and if it clears you get tickets for the match. You are allowed to select up to 7 different matches to waitlist for.

The ticketing system is a total disgrace.
You have to order tickets based on groups, when you dont even know who will be playing? And you have to take category 1 prices even if you just want the cheap tickets?
Wonder if they have much ebay potential.

I believe you will actually be charged the price of the category you end up getting a ticket. As they expect most returned tickets to be of Cat.1 that is why they make the initial charge based on that.
As for buying a group/knockout tickets, apart from the German matches, no one knows which teams will be at which stadium. If you want to attend a world cup game then it is your best bet of getting a ticket, and there is nothign stopping you reapplying for a TST later on next year. If you look at the way the last sixteen/quarter finals etc are made up, then you can actually select the games where you get a good chance of watching England (if they make it that far of course). I reckon I have a >50% chance of watching them if I have get the tickets I have applied for, assuming that England make the last sixteen.
I have to correct myself here... I have just noticed that I could get only one pair of tickets, and that the other matches I have selected are just 'second chances' in case I am not allocated ticket to the first selection. Therefore, I dont have a >50% chance of seeing england as first mentioned, which is a bummer! I guess I'll have to hold my hope of getting a TST in the next TST round.

Did you do this with a mastercard CC ?
Did you do this with a mastercard CC ?
Yes.
How does the bank transfer option work? Do I have to give them the money now and then get it back if I don't get tickets.
Also it says transfers are allowed subject to them not being unreasonable and a 10 euro fee. Does this mean if I bought tickets for my family I could transfer one to a mate.
