Have had the R1 version for quite a while now and love it.I remember enjoying it when it was first shown on TV in the 80's and was wary about not finding it funny anymore....how wrong I was !!

A fantastic show that should have run for more than its 2 seasons and well worth a "blind buy" if you have never seen it before. :thumbs:

Does anyone know if there's any difference between the R1 and R2 of season 1? Im tempted to get it on Play.com (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://playcom.at/thedvdforums) for 17.99... or 16.99 with my £1 daily star voucher thats up on the 30th

Can't find any comparisons on the usual places.

The R1 is in a book style plasctic case with 4 "Pages" t hold the dvd's and the R2 is in cardboard packaging. They have different menus and the R2 has the regular theme playing where as the R1 has a remixed version that is a more rock orientated version of the original.

Also the R1 has a thank you to the fans page that is not on the R2. Not that big a deal except for me as my name is on the R1 for helping out with the dvd's.

You will notice that a lot of dialoge was cut out of the uk tv showings and is back in the episodes now.

I think that covers it.

Yes. 20th June 2005.

I along with a couple of others sent tapes of off air recordings to be used on the dvd (after they were cleaned up) They used the audio track to produce the dvd's.

I got a free copy of Season 1 R1 signed by David Rache, Harrison Page and Anne Marie Martin.

Cheers for the info Hamburger, looks like i'll go for the region 1 then, its probably a few quid cheaper too.

The R1 was probably my favourite DVD of last year - wonderful stuff.

Does the R2 still have the censoring of certain lines though, such as the substitution for the word 'God' in the pilot episode, which was replaced by 'Goodness' on the R1 - always puzzled me that one.

Just got my region 1 season 2, watching them at the moment.
Although the jokes are starting to wear a little thin by season 2. It's still excellent stuff :thumbs:

I love the face David Rasche pulls whenever he avoids being "emotional", classic stuff :lol:
