I just called her, and the tickets are going on sale at the beginning of March.
As for best places - well, I always like the start-finish straight, as you have the best view of the start and the winner, and can always tell who's leading. The last corner is great for this too, especially as the bikes come straight towards you before turning onto the straight. You're very close to the action, and the noise is incredible.
For sheer spectacle, the Craner Curves are fantastic - the bikes are incredibly fast down there, and you can see a huge stretch of track. However, you are quite far from the bikes, so a pair of binoculars would come in handy.
If you want a grandstand seat, then your only choice is the start-finish straight - all other areas are grassy banks.
The most important advice I can give: turn up very early to avoid the traffic. And take a book for the journey home, as Donington has some of the worst traffic flow I've ever seen. It may take you literally hours to get out of the car park. In all fairness to the organisers, they've tried to do more and more each year to improve the traffic, but the increase in attendance has outstripped their efforts.

After several attempts at calling Donington, I've finally got my race day tickets booked. You can call Donington at the number above, or if you just want entry tickets and don't want grandstand seats, you can use Ticketmaster (http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/venue/189316/).
