View Full Version : Diouf - A Disgrace
Whilst his theatrics did the bottom four a favour, I for one would be happy for him to leave the premiership at the end of the season and never return.
Hated by fans of other clubs, an embaressment to his own club
That dive was so late that I'm sure he must of been tripped by a small animal of unknown origin - or possiby a small badger - couldnt realy tell from the tv replay...
Anyway - yep it was a disgrace - I think he must be on some sort of commission with regard to acting like a complete idiot.
I agree, Pires' antics have no place in the Premiership.

Diouf also rubbed it in by winding up the Rovers fans a la Shrek to the Liverpool fans. He is a cheat and I am embarrassed that he ever pulled on our red shirt.
Bolton fans & big Sam today will feel embarrassed by winning that way, & it would be a real injustice if Blackburn ended up relegated by that 1 Point, that "victory", that dive & that idiot.
Wonder if the FA will charge him

Pires, Viera, Ronaldo, Rooney, Robben, Drogba..........they'd have to charge all these too if they charged Diouf. They have all dived (Some more than others).
made me laugh anyway! good on him
looking forward to seeing the bottom lot catch rovers.

He's an excelent player, Bolton should buy him in the January transfer for at least £5mil. He's doing whats needed, scoring and winning matches. Thats what he's paid the big money for.
(this isnt influenced in any way whatsoever by me being a Liverpool fan, oh no, nothing about offloading the donkey at all...)
I thought that this would get dug out. I've watched it numerous times and I believe that there was contact, Friedel's foot caught his trailing foot, the photo in the Sun link shows how close it was at that point. Would anyone put their life savings on their interpretation of it being correct? I certainly wouldn't, but because it's Diouf the witchhunt begins, I find that a bit pathetic really.
Utero/new, please don't attempt to speak for Bolton fans unless you are one? The general concensus is that we love the guy for all his faults, he is a quality footballer. No embarrassment here, just 3 points in the bag to make up for all the decisions that don't go for us against the top clubs.
More important than this incident was why wasn't Robbie Savage carded for going through Ricardo Gardner's standing leg with a two footed challenge in the first minute? This kind of challenge ends careers and Savage had already announced in the media he was intending starting the game off with a bone cruncher on Speed.

...you are making a bit of an idiot of yourself here mate...I've seen it again and again(...and no doubt we'll all be seeing it plenty more times) and the disgrace clearly dived, you would have to be registered blind not to see that! There was no contact, he tripped himself up to earn a penalty, anyone defending him should be ashamed...and that includes his manager!!
...he'd make a fine Arsenal player

That elbow was completly intentional and should have been a red. He watched the defender all the way before elbowing him in the face.
This is another reason why we need to have a diving panel with the power to dish out bans to players who TV replays prove to have dived. 1 match ban for a routine dive, 2 matches if it got opponent booked, 3 matches if it got him a red card or earned a goal. Increasing bans for repeat offenders. It's so bleedin obvious.

Except he didn't raise his elbow, Todd lowered his face and it was his arm that caught him not the elbow. It wasn't a deliberate elbow to the face and none of the ex-pros called it as a deliberate elbow, it was a nudge with the arm. The ref got that one 100% right.
...you are making a bit of an idiot of yourself here mate...
It must be great to be so confident in your own opinion that you can call anyone who dares disagree an idiot. I justified by opinion and said I wasn't 100% though, if that makes me an idiot, so be it. I didn't read the rest of your post.

I'm a Liverpool fan and I don't hate the guy like most other Liverpool fans. His spitting has no place in football, but the fact remains that diving will ALWAYS be part of the game. Not that I am saying he dived, I believe his trailing leg was caught however slight.
Like someone else has said, so many other players have dived this season but no one has said jack **** about them. Why Diouf, because its Diouf. Because of his bad rep. Oh and sore loosers too.
Whilever the guy stops spitting, he will have my support.
Rob
The disgrace is that the ref was 15 yards away and didn't see the most blatent dive ever.

What was worse was the way boltons manager reacted to it, basically saying it was justified because theyd had 'wrong' decisions earlier in the season.

I think what he means is decisions even themselves out over the course of the season. Maybe they had one that wasn't given that was a penalty. Ok maybe they were lucky, but this one was a penalty as there was contact, albeit slight.

Totally agree was very disapointed big Sam didnt hold is hands up and say that they had cheated to win the game and that its swings and roundabouts with these things, perhaps he should have seen G Speeds comments before him which were more to the mark
As for Diouf as much as I hate him for all his antics on the park he did what he was paid to do and helped Bolton win the game at any cost and who can blame him when the FA let him and countless others get away with it week in week out
Ashley Cole's attempt to win a penalty at the beginning of last night's game was just as bad a dive as dioufs if not worse, also patrick viera's to try and get Rooney sent off, yet I don't see anyone branding either of them a disgrace. The only difference was the ref didn't fall for either of these

I actually wrote that this happens week in week out do I have to name all of them, I think you will find we all hate this nature of the game and just wish those who could take action to punish the cheats did so, the lack of action only encourages more players to try it on
As a Bolton fan, the Croft tackle in Sunday's FA Cup game that put Nicky Hunt in hospital and the Kanoute 2 footed tackle on Barness last night that earned him his 2nd yellow are far worse than anything Diouf has ever done.
As I wrote in the FA Cup 4th round thread, no one will start a thread crucifying them, and that stinks of hypocracy.
However, at Bolton, we are loving being the team everyone slags off just because we dare to compete successfully with the 'bigger' teams.
Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la Diouf Diouf!

are everyone slagging off Bolton? i thought it was just Diouf? he's the Robbie Savage of your team; despised by the opposition fans, but loved by your own. Although whereas Savage is just a ponce, Diouf is a bit nasty too; all that spitting at the crowd, it's not nice, is it?

Not forgetting Viera at Anfield when Hammann pulled out of the tackle and he still went over, without even getting a talking too, let alone a card :?:

Cole's antics have been mentioned (see the fiver for instance) in a few places.
People don't hate bolton because you compete, it is because players like diouf, and campo (diving) and the attitude of bending the rules.
With regards to viera he was acting like aspoilt child. However, rooney needs to grow up. every time the camera focused on him he was swearing at an official. he'll get s/o sooner or later.

I think El Hadji said in his defence that the Celtic fan(s) patted him on the head which was how people select slaves, and hence a great insult. I'd say he's volatile not nasty.
Also, I don't think that Campo does dive, he is very, very slow and when touched, he goes down. He's Spanish, it's what they do. EVERY club bends the rules, the better you are at it, the higher up the league you are. The big clubs don't care about us, the similar sized ones resent us.

While you'r at it, send Roy Carroll with them for being the cheat he is. (spurs goal anyone?) and Roy Keane for openely admitting he ended a players career. Scum.

Where did he admit that?

Keane admitted tackling Haaland in an attempt to injure him (or something to that effect), and was charged by the FA accordingly ... and he didn't finish his career, although agreed, it wasn't nice ...

that sounds like an excuse thought up after the act ... what was his excuse when he did it again more recently, whilst playing for Bolton?
