Hope it's better than the Bush Hall gig with it's absence of vocals for us at the front... not sure whether to pay £30 to see her again as she's disappointed both times previously.

Manchester tickets appear to be on sale now on Ticketmaster.co.uk, despite listing an 'internet on sale' time as 9am tomorrow. It's let me buy 2 standing tickets (although it did take 3 attempts...) :)
The Brixton date doesn't show up yet.

Did you get a booking confirmation?
Edit - ignore me, it's shown up.

hmmm Dilemma, do I do London as well... I suppose there are trains from manchester Piccadilly straight in there and I have a place to stay so I suppose I could do the whole, Go down during the day to london, go see the concert and next morning go to station, hop on train, come home... sleep some more and go to Manchester gig

Fly it with BMI. That's what I do now in similar situations. If you fly at the right time, it's £14 each way + taxes.

But by the time you add the cost and time taken to get to/from the airports, check in times, etc, you might as well just go by train?
I was thinking about going to both, but probably won't, trying to save my holidays... (but now I'd really rather like to go to Australia in March.... Sarah McLachlan is playing at the Sydney Opera House!.... not gonna happen, though....)

What did anyone else think, then?
The set list was great - especially 'Your House' and 'Can't Not', but the sound quality was probably the worst I've heard at the Apollo :(. The first few songs sounded awful, it did improve a lot a few songs in, I think 'This Grudge' was when it started to sound more acceptable, but I've heard far better at the venue.... Great atmosphere though, especially towards the end :)
Were they just a bit too loud for the place? They seemed to be all set up for bigger venues, with the big projector screens seeming a little out-of-place in the relatively small Apollo....
Anyway, felt like I could have been back in 1999 with all the JLP/SFIJ songs :)

Agree with you that they were geared up for a bigger venue, with the big screens and all, but dead chuft that we saw her at the Apollo, I love standing at the Apollo, it's a brill venue (I'm off to see Kasabian tonight there). But I will disagree with you about the sound, I was comentating to the better half all night about crystal clear, I was stood just behind the sound engineer, and she came across superb.
I will also agree with you about the atmosphere, it was spot on  I realy enjoyed the night and thought it was one of the best concerts I've been to in ages. (and I do go to a few) . The thing I loved about it was Alanis seemed to be enjoying herself throughout, she played a great set list and the crowd were well into it, great night all round
PS I thought she looked very, very sexy  which is always a bonus :luv:

Cant Not
Surrendering
Hand In My Pocket
Front Row

Everything

Wake Up

Your House

Thank You
bluescrn - it was way too loud! I took my Mum with me and luckily I brought ear plugs for her. She would never have been able to listen to it without them. By the end I had a pain in one ear and in my neck. On the plus side the bass seemed to clear all the snot from my bunged up cold nose! haha.
LOVED the setlist. Junkie has always been my fave album so it was great to hear a few tracks from that one. I was up in the circle but had pretty good few of her, except when she moved to the right of the stage, but the screens helped when she did that! Highlights for me: All I Really Want, Hands Clean, Surrendering, Wake Up and Thank You (I cried- what a surprise).
I really like Your House which is surprising as I don't like the album version but I thought that her voice sounded perfect on it.
All in all, I have to say that it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to and I feel so terrible for totally sidelining her in favour of Tori Amos.
mikegray - if you're about, were you on the front row of the stalls wearing glasses and a blue shirt with red tshirt underneath? If so, I saw you; if not, then I didn't. hehehe.

Well, I was wearing glasses, but don't think I was wearing a blue shirt with a red t-shirt underneath! :p
Although I was indeed on the very front row of standing, dead centre! Photos came out really badly, and I thought the sound mix was really bad - not as bad as at Bush Hall last year, but definitely rubbish for the first few songs, seemed to improve towards the end...
