Anyone heard of her/ know what the new album is like? Been hearing 'Sunny Road' a bit on the radio... Gorgeous track, so wondering about the rest of her stuff... :)
Lovely voice. Her new album Fisherman's Woman is due out next week and is full of those introspective, acoustic led songs - very nice indeed.
Her first album (proper) Love In The Time Of Science is quite different - it's much more "trip-hop" and is also very good indeed. Excellent production by Roland Orzabal.
Well worth picking up both CDs :)
Oh, and she co-wrote the Kylie song, Slow.
And sang Gollum's Song on the Two Towers soundtrack.
Only track of hers I know is 'Unemployed in summertime' which is simply gorgeous, the girl's got a sumblime voice.
She's also sung on several breakbeat dance tracks including Hold Your Hand by Paul Oakenfold.
A really good singer, sounds very similar sound to Bjork only without the more crazy aspects of her singing.

Thanks everyone. :) Not sure whether to purchase this or the new Mercury Rev album next...
I've got one of her songs, Summerbreeze, on a Buffy album. It's an acoustic track, the song is pretty good, she's got a great voice.
I've got "Love In The Time Of Science" by her and it's a great album. She has a really distinctive voice and the album on a whole is excellent.
I'll be getting hold of her new one once it's released. In her case, more of the same would be no bad thing:)
Really like her first album so I think I'll be getting the new one. Thanks for the heads-up!
Had the first album for a few years and listening now to her new album.
It's certainly an acoustic affair and reminds me slightly of the Feist album.
May be worth a purchase in the future...
im going to see her in york in april .... cant wait :)
Not a fan of her recent offering apart from the one featuring Damien Rice.
She has a really compelling voice but from what I've heard the music is a bit coffee-table so I'm not sure if I can be bothered to buy an album I'd rarely listen to...
Did have a moment of "WTF?" when I first heard 'Sunnyroad' as there's a line in the second verse:
I never married
Never had those kids
I loved too many
Now heaven's closed its gates.
I know I'm bad
To jump on you like this
Some things don't change
My middle name's still 'Risk'
I misheard that as 'My middle name's still 'Liz'' and was concerned at how hokey her lyrics were...
Really like her first album so I think I'll be getting the new one. Thanks for the heads-up!
ditto, brought the first after a direct mail from amazon years ago. Great album, a little quirky.

Well I bought the new album and I have to agree with you. It has its moments (like Today Has Been OK, Heartstopper, Fisherman's Woman) but all in it's pretty forgettable and for me a bit of a disappointment. Her voice is still great though.

Went along to photograph Emiliana at St Giles Church last night for the agency I work for.
I was going to leave after our first three songs but decided to stay as she was sounding great so watched the rest of the show sitting in front of the first pew, less than six feet away from the lady herself.
She was amazing and is hilarious between songs.

I think she still has the voice of an angel, so a Church is apt.
The new albums better than Fishermans Wife gladly and really like it, not quite as wonderful as her first album, but she is still magnificent. I knew she was back in UK, but tried to ignore it as I know she aint coming anywhere near me
But I would love to see and hear her live.
I searched a while back for a thread on her, found nothing myself so assumed everyone was not into her at all. I would have thought she got loads of extra fans for doing the Lord of the Rings music :D it only dawned on me a few months ago it was her doing that! she sounds like Golum  in a good way.
