The Chavs are coming....

Imagine my disappointment at reading this news:

Libertines frontman Carl Barat has announced the formation of a new supergroup to include Tim Burgess, Primal Scream's Martin Duffy and Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows. The band will be called the Chavs.

First thought after checking that it wasn't April 1st, could they have thought of a more crap name?

They did - and it was utter chaos by all accounts. Perhaps Pete Doherty had snuck in?

The Chavs, the indie supergroup formed by Carl Barat, Tim Burgess, Martin Duffy and Andy Burrows, have fallen foul of another indie supergroup already calling themselves The Chavs.

The unrelated band includes members of Claytown Troupe, Vice Squad, Maniac Squat and Roachford and formed in 2003.

They are presently taking legal advice to determine exactly where they stand on the copyright of their name

Sounds like the 'spare wheels' of decent bands, with a bloke with dodgy lips, who hasn't penned a decent song in 5 years, on vocals, to me...
