The number takes you through to Ticketline. (http://www.jillsobule.com/gigsdetail.asp?id=375) The gig is listed as being a Jill Sobule one, but I got the gen from Jill's Secret Society Mystery Cult:

"Please check out the web site Gigs page (www.jillsobule.com/gigs.html) for shows in LA (another Largo show next week, and you never know who's going to show up!), New York City and Westport, CT (opening up for the multi- talented Martin Sexton, this weekend and next), and a three-city tour
of the UK with Billy Bragg in March"

Update, latest gen from Jill Sobule's camp:

"Minor intelligence failure here at Cult HQ, folks. Jill's dates in
the UK in March are NOT with Billy Bragg, as we previously reported.
They are solo gigs, or, at least, Jill is the headliner, and Billy
Bragg's only involvement is that his management folks are helping with
some of the arrangements.

Sorry for the misinformation. We are, however, still quite certain
that Mr. Bragg has Weapons of Mass Destruction."

Cost £15.40 for 2 tickets, so a bargain.

Cheers for this. Tickets safely bagged (Numbers 5 & 6. I bet you got 1 & 2 )

As you say worth it for Jill on her own but it would be brilliant if Bragg is there as well

See you there

Cool. I'll distract the bouncers with my lary dancing while you record the gig. Then you can give me a copy.

PS - I meant to ask whether you got to see that Nick Cave TV gig thing a few months back. It was some scottish music programme - about an hour long recorded in the round with a few interview inserts. Mail me if you want the details.

Hmm - well the gen from the Billy Bragg office is that Billy won't be there (or at least that's the official word ATM). I'm happy either way though (still)

I don't mind either way but it makes sense to deny ot even if he is going to be there. I guess it is a very small venue so Jill fans really should get first dibs on the tickets which wouldn't happen if BB is confirmed

Still appear to be a few tickets left for this tonight. If you're in Manchester I'd recommend it. :)

I`ve just got back from manchester and I saw you!, I didnt know it was you because i`d not read the thread until now. When you first got to the pub you went to the bar and i was at the bar in front of you! I remember because your tshirt caught my eye.

Anyway. Jill was excellent, Even with the flu. Was nice to hear a good mix of old and new, Mexican Wrestler was a surprise as was the sing along in Underdog Victorious. If i`d have had the bottle I`d have shouted for Attic. I got loads of photos but cant get them off the camera because I cant find the transfer cable, i`ve got to wait for my mate to come round with his camera so I can out the mem card in it and get them off like that.

I hope Jill comes over more now as it was the best gig I`ve been to in ages. I Prefer small intimate gigs like that.

I have to agree it was a superb gig. She's such a lovely person and a brilliant performer. The set list was top notch too - the only one I thought she might have played and didn't was "Heroes".

Like you I hope she plays more UK gigs.

I just wish I`d thought of taking along my copy of Underdog to get it signed!, I ended up buying another copy and getting that one signed. She is really lovley, Taking the time to chat to everyone who went to the table and signing everything that people put in front of her.

Sorry I didn't say goodbye. I must have been to wrapped up in checking my recording had worked. I take it you guys would like a copy if it has come out OK?

Quick note to the mods. I asked Jill beofre the gig and she gave me permission to record the gig as long as I promised to do here a copy which I will.

Anyway I can only agree that the gig was superb, I just wish there had been a bigger crowd.

I could see you were engrossed. :D Nice to meet you at last though.

Sure, you've got my details and I'd love a copy (even a ropey one). Cheers for the offer.

I'll be giving it a listen later on so will let you know how it sounds. I think I've still got your details at home so a copy will be no problem. I also recorded the majority of the support set by the duo. I mentioned this to one of them and seemed dead chuffed and I'll be sending him that set as well.

Brill.

I'm fighting the temptation to take the 500 mile round trip to see her again in Bristol on Thursday night.

That would be mad. You could of course fly from newcastle or Leeds :p

I've just listened to the show and it sounds pretty darn good to my ears apart from the odd door slamming

I tried to buy the dvd last night but the site kept saying there was a problem with my payment details, I tried 3 times, In the end I phoned barclaycard who told me that there was nothing wrong with my card so I emailed the site I was trying to buy it from to ask them what was going on. The site was ClubCafeLive and it`s 1 of only 2 shops i`ve found who are selling it. The other shop you had to phone them to get international shipping rates! Do you know of abny other shops that are selling the dvd ?

I suppose that's not too bad then. Might give it a punt later on.
