I have just been listening to the rather brilliant Gladiator soundtrack, and the two tracks mentioned in the thread title give me goosebumps!

Cna anyone recommend any tunes/albums that are of a similar style?

Vague I know, but if you can help, then thankyou very much!

If they have female vocals then that will be Lisa Gerard who used to sing with the rather wonderful Dead Can Dance. The best place to start with them would be Toward the Within (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000025MDH/thedvdforums-21) . She and has also done at least one solo album that I can think of, the equally lovely The Mirror Pool (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000251K3/thedvdforums-21) . I think Enya may have done a track on the Gladiator OST as well

Hope that helps

It is indeed Lisa Gerrard....

I shall have a go with Toward the Within!

Oh yeah, try The Insider OST as well, think she may have done that too

EDIT: Know that Dead Can Dance also had a male singer as well and Toward The Within features him a lot. I love his voice but you may want to get a taster first

You could also check out some of Hans Zimmer's other soundtracks. The Last Samurai (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000DZTIW/thedvdforums-21) would be a good one to start with.

Thought her stuff for Layer Cake (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002QFCU0/thedvdforums-21) was rather nice, but it's a slightly different style (and not all that well represented on the soundtrack CD :| )

And of course no-one's collection is complete without his score for The Thin Red Line (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00000GV6B/thedvdforums-21)

You could also look out for More Music from Gladiator (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://playcom.at/thedvdforums^QS^DURL=http://www.play.com/play247.asp^QS^page=title^QA^r=CD^QA^title=148282^QA^p=34^QA^g=48)

Not quite as good as the first, but still worth a listen

Mmm... featuring both 'Now We Are Free (Juba's Mix)' and 'Now We Are Free (Maximus Mix)'. Tasty! :gag:
