Sorry if this is old news but I have just discovered, and subsequently bought from Play, the first two Japan albums: Adolescent Sex and Obscure Alternatives. Lots of bonus live tracks, pics, background info and amazing vids, worth it just to hear The Tenant in all its remastered glory. Fantastic!

Updated to include the two links (which I hopoe I have affiliated correctly?)

Adolescent Sex (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://playcom.at/thedvdforums^QS^DURL=http://www.play.com/play247.asp^QS^page=title^QA^r=CD^QA^title=156834^QA^p=34^QA^g=48)

Obscure Alternatives (http://www.thedvdforums.com/jump.php?url=http://playcom.at/thedvdforums^QS^DURL=http://www.play.com/play247.asp^QS^page=title^QA^r=CD^QA^title=156832^QA^p=34^QA^g=48)

Are they in jewel cases or digipacks?

I think digipacks (no not sure exactly what there are!)

NIce packaging though, opens out two flaps with an insert of info in th eright hand flap, very nice for £6.99 each and I really would pay that just for The Tenant, beautiful.

Are you a fan?

These were released last year sometime. If you so wish you can also get Tin Drum and Quiet Life with extra tracks added.

David Sylvian is also releasing a remix collection of his recent Blemish album availiable from the 7th of Feb...

I agree, it's about time someone mentioned them, and the pure talent that seemed to get overlooked by the mainstream, and everone who talks about the 80s....

I'm off to get my final tour program (Hammersmith Odeon) out of the attic, Ah..... such a shame they split when they did....

By the way did anyone other than me ever buy the Dolphin Brothers Album that came out back in 87? Steve & Rich doing a 2 man project, not a bad effort with Steve doing the vocals....

I have my tour programme for their final performance in Bristol!

Yes Dolphin Brothers 'Catch the Fall' excellent - even more so Mick Karn's solo stuff and then Sylvian - Dead Bees on a Cake and the beautiful 'Secrets of the beehive'

Picked up these Japan re-issues last year although why Tin Drum needed to be 2 discs in an oversize box is beyond me and I was also disappointed that Assemblage wasn’t as the double play chrome tape from years ago with extended versions and live tracks. A 2 disc Japanese rarities collection I picked up some 5 years back has most of that stuff on it but I thought the re-issues were a bit of a missed oppprtunity in some cases.

I did some work on the advertising graphics for Raintree Crow ages ago and scrounged a copy of that and David Sylvian’s Weatherbox whilst doing so. Fantastic albums before he became a little self-indulgent (IMO) and worth a bit now as well.

Oooh, yes. I have both of those CDs. I picked up a copy each of the 2-disc, Japanese only released, Assemblage and The Singles (which I think is the one you refer to with the rarities on) CDs in Hong Kong a few years ago. :D

I agree that the re-issues were a real let down. :(

Doors open at 19:45 and the cost is £9 if you book online at www.burningshed.com (http://www.burningshed.com) or £10 on the door :)
