I have a 40Gb laptop HD in a portable enclosure, that seems to be playing up. I lent it to a mate, and I suspect its had a knock, but I can no longer use it properly. I can browse the file structure, pictures show previews and MP3s seem to play, but I can't copy from it or delete anything. It has approx 3.4Gb of free space.
So, although I have a horrible feeling the HD is borked, are there any apps out there you can reccomend for tring to salvage at least some of the data? Norton scans OK til it hits the data part, where it just sits there doing nowt. Scandisk was pretty much the same.
