3rd round of the Scottish Cup takes place this weekend.

Tie of the round sees Celtic vs Rangers on Sunday. 12.15pm kick-off and it's live on Sky Sports 1.

I've got a ticket so will be there.

Anyone unlucky enough to support the other mob can still get a ticket apparently - plenty available. Don't know if any fellow Rangers supporters who are ticketless are feeling brave enough to sit in the home end?

Should be a good game. Feeling confident. Will be the usual Celtic tactics of long-ball to Hartson or Sutton, win free-kick and then add Balde and Varga to the mix for the set-piece. If we can combat that then we should win.

Come on Rangers!

Good result for East Fife. Think Gretna may yet provide the shock of the round though. That game was postponed.

Don't really fancy our chances much today. With home advantage, the Hartson resigning and the loss of Boum I think Celtic will win comfortably.

Hope I'm wrong!

I'm confident. We should fancy our chances having won the last two matches and it is Celtic we're playing.

Only thing is the weather is atrocious. May cause a few problems for the defenders with long balls into Hartson and Sutton. They are hard to handle in the air and clever at winning free-kicks. If the wind is swirling then it might make the task more difficult for balls lumped up to the two big men and also at corners/free-kicks.

Just under 3 hours to go so better start getting ready!

Come on Rangers!

The usual nonsense from JCL... I bet he will have his feet up watching Sky instead of venturing out in the wind :D

Heres what i said to him in another thread where his snide remarks about the tickets were also aired

I think you will find that it will be a sell out. Not every season ticket holder can afford to pay £30 for a ticket just after Christmas and the massive fund raising effort. A lot of folk I know are donating the £30 to the tsunami fund instead of going to the match. There is a public sale and those Celtic fans who have not been to a Rangers game will buy the tickets.

Basic economics for you there JCL

The weather is very windy and at least one of the ferry ports is out of action and I would imagine a lot of the travelling support will be hit with delays coming from Ireland.

Celtic to win

Fingers crossed for a Rangers win today.

I was at Tynecastle on Boxing Day and my already low opinion of Celtic was reinforced by the appalling behaviour of many of the "TGFITW" and seeing Harston's repeated fouling going unpunished on the pitch. :oh-hum:

Unless the Celtic fans are going to become charity workers over night, your opinion of them would still be as before, so less of the sermon. Some of the Hearts fans were appalling and the whole ground seemed to abuse McGeady every time he touched the ball.

Good win at Tynecastle that day though

Some of the Hearts fans were appalling ...I agree. There were a few morons in the Hearts support, but I think/hope that most of them were goaded into it.Good win at Tynecastle that day though :thumbs:Didn't think the scoreline reflected the game fairly. Hearts had their fair share of the game, but just couldn't finish. :(

But that's OT ... Come on Rangers! ;)

This has been a great game, rough and tough compared to the Premiership. Tough tackling, get Hugh Dallas into the premiership, he's a class act, love the way he shouts and takes no grief from the players.

Specsavers as refs sponsers is class

As I suspected Boumsong no longer playing for Rangers edged the game in Celtics favour

Edged the game in scoreline but dominated overall. Rangers had one shot at goal first half , scored their goal when catching Celtic cold start of second and then it was all Celtic again until they had a little 5 min spell with a series of corners. Deserved Celtic Win

Yeah they did dominate without doing that much, and I don't think Rangers would have conceded the first goal if Boumsong had been playing for Rangers two poor teams really , not alot of skill on show anymore from either side

Little quality on show. Celtic edged it by taking one more chance than Rangers.

Hopefully Rangers will be stronger when the next league game comes around in February.

Buffel looked a good player.

Long ball to Sutton worked today for Celtic's first goal!

Very predicatable result today, although Rangers should have scored right at the death to force a replay.

As much as I hate to admit it, Celtic deserved the win. Gap is closing though, with Rangers improving and Celtic getting older and slower. Good to see a few of the bears give Balde a kick or two. McLeish ain't great tactically though and we need a centre half nearly as badly as the 'tic do

Celtic easily won this one.

Celtic scored 2, had 2 frantically cleared off the line, had 1 goalmouth scramble and 1 stonewall penalty appeal turned down. Rangers had 1 goal, a few corners and 1 shot on target. They also hacked their way through the game.

That's the treble gone :D

Long ball to Sutton worked today for Celtic's first goal!

If you can combat Celtic's long ball and aerial threat then you have them beat. One dimensional football - it does work for them domestically though. If we can get a new centre-half in we'll be fine.

Didn't think the result was predictable at all. We've now played 4 Old Firm games this season and 2 wins for either side. Still have every confidence that we'll win the league. Djordic looked good yesterday and Buffel (bar the miss) impressed in his first appearance. Comfortable on the ball and showed a great awareness of those around him. Add a commanding centre-half and possibly another midfielder and we'll be fine.

Yep, Celtic can be a bit 1-dimensional playing Sutton & Hartson at times. The 1st goal was text book route one football (there is nothing wrong with this as long as it is not the main form of football), the 2nd one was a passing move. Rangers just aren't good enough to stop Celtic.

Still have every confidence that we'll win the league

The same confidence you had last year :D

Didn't seem that way when Ricksen equalised. The TGFITW went awful quiet.

It looks like King Barry could be back for the league game in February. A class player like him would have made all the difference yesterday. A poor game played between two teams short on quality and ideas.
