Can't stand Formula 1 and have no interest in the 'personalities' involved in the sport, but well done Mr Schumacher

Good one. Only other celeb I've heard of is Sandra Bullock giving $1m.

Well done Schumi!!

I'm amazed that more Premiership footballers have not made personal contributions considering how much they earn each week.

Apparently, the United squad gave £100k from their own pockets last week ... i know it's not much in comparison, probably around £4k a man, but still ... oh, that's Manchester United ...

I'm amazed that more Premiership footballers have not made personal contributions considering how much they earn each week.

I think some have but it's not public as such. At Spurs, they provided the £50k as a club all other Prem teams did, but also said that many of the players made their own additional contributions, but did not detail what these were.

Don't think it matters so much on amounts, but I think some players are generous enough to dip into their own pockets.
