ok so it's more about the book about the making of the series. It's called The Secrets of Frank Herbert's "Dune". Apparently there's a dvd with it that has interviews and back stage footage. Is this stuff that isn't on the R1 version of the actual dvd of the mini series? I'm pondering buying it so I need to know if it's worth it.

Special Edition !!! according to the leaflet in the buffy season three box set the dvd being relesed on region 2 on the 26th is supposed to be a special edition. or are Fox gonna release an ultimate edition or something. silly money grabbing companies !!

Fox are calling the R2 a "Special Edition" just to justify the £30+ price tag, while containing little more that the original R1 release. A R1 SE is rumoured for next year and could be 90mins longer....

...or... you might consider the German (Pan-European?) set: anamorphic 1.78:1, DD 5.1, what more do you need? ... and... it's available right now ! ! !

...or... take the French release (also Pan-European, but the other 'pan', if you get my drift): anamorphic 1.78:1, DD 5.1, 30-minute 'Making of...' plus a 30-minute documentary... also available NOW, TODAY, not 'perhaps' some time next year on Region 1...

thanx for the info people. I think I'll wait a bit yet, was gonna get that book but noticed that Terry Pratchett's Soul Music was out so that's where the money went. I can't believe I didn't notice this coming out on dvd. Seems to have been very quiet (admittedly it's not that mainstream). At only £8.99 I'm pretty happy and I finally got a copy of FF8 for the PC. :clap: 2nd hand shops

Do the French and German releases have english soundtracks for the extras?
