On my last credit card bill, I'ev been billed £18.69 by a company marked as "EBAY INTL AG UK 888 749 3229". I don't remember paying anything to eBay itself (infact I've only sold one thing on there in the past 6 months). I emailed them and got a reply saying they had no record of me ever owing £18.69.

What should I do now - do I get in contact with the card provider? Does someone recognise this as a fraud?

Could it possibly be paypal?? I know its owned by eBay now, and so may show up as that on the bill?

I'm pretty sure Paypal payments are marked as "PAYPAL * company/account name" even for ebay auctions? I would contact your card provider ASAP and let them run a check for you on the source of the transaction.

That's definitely ebay's customer service phone number on your statement - google it and see.

It's a US number though and freephone in the US - from here you'd have to prefix it with 001 and it would probably not be free.

It's Ebay taking fees for listings and completed auctions, have you checked your ebay account recently, it hasn't been taken over has it?

Could someone have nicked his credit card number and set up an ebay account with the details so he ends up paying for their auctions ?

This is what I'm thinking. I got an email a few months ago saying my card had been used to open a new account. I emailed eBay, who investigated and reported back saying that my card hadn't been used. It new seems it has been used. Oh well - off to phone the card provider.

I had some listing fees taken from my credit card. I asked their live help for help but they told me to email them & I will get a response within 24 hours. They will email you the username of any accounts linked to your credit card. It turns out my brother was using my card :suspect:

So just send them a mail
