View Full Version : Kef cresta centre.......
Since i've never had the opertunity to hear one of these speakers i would welcome comments from peeps who own or have heard one. Good or bad?
I hope you are not thinking on buying a speaker without listening to it first ?
It makes no difference what anyone else thinks about how it sounds you are the person who has to listen to it!
;)
Yep
Got to agree with the above. When I was looking about for a speaker set, a lot of people were rating the Tannoy's and Mission's very highly. In the end, I opted for the Kef Cresta range, I liked the sound of them better. And I'm still delighted with them a year later.
I agree, you need to listen yourself.
I bought a pair of Cresta 3s and was so impressed by them I upgraded my Yamaha with the Cresta centre. If I'm a good boy Santa might bring me a pair of Cresta 2s to replace my old JPW rears.
If they suit you they are great speakers for the money.

I will indeed have a listen before i make a purchase but i don't have a local Kef dealer which is why i seek the counsel of an owner. If the consensus was largely negative then i would have ended any interest.
I can do you a nice deal on a Tannoy (mc) centre :D
The best thing to do is to visit your local hi-fi centre take a million cd's and your fave films. Don't rely on all the best DTS soundtrack stuff take films you actually want to watch!
Phone the guy a week in advance with a list of all the items you want to demo. Tell him you want at least a couple of hours to listen by yourself.
Any good shop should be able to get what you want in stock.
Then it's out with the credit card and you end up with a completely over the top system like mine!!! :o

And there lies a tale. One of my colleges has told me his best mate works for Tannoy and can get what ever Tannoy model I fancy for a large discount.A pair of R2s centre and sub could be winging their way to my living room soon.   .

Wow. You have learning establishments with best mates?
Revolutions are great speakers - I've got them. Make sure you have a sturdy old place to stick the Rev centre though, as at 17kgs it's a bit of a beast!! :D
A few reports have mentioned the Rev sub has a tendency to intrusively hum though. :(
Tbh I'm not really familiar with the current product range so i've asked for a catalouge.Again I'd welcome suggestions.
