Hey there,

Has anyone got this game?

I bought it about 2 days ago, and am a massive fan of the arcade original and while I have owned many versions over the years (SNES, Mega Drive, PC, Playstation) this one seems to be the closest to the original arcade in terms of speed of gameplay and animation.

However I am slightly peeved that they haven't included all the moves from the original Hyper Fighting (things like the ability to do hadokens and hurricane kicks in mid air).

Why didn't they just have all 5 or 6 games on one disk as seperate entities?

Wasn't that only on the dodgy Black Belt edition?

Hyper fighting let you do, hurricane kicks and spinning bird kicks in mid air. The mid-air-cyclone punch was in the cloned Black Belt versions.

It was the chipped machines that let you do Dragon punches and all ther other special moves in the air. It was actually a good game but haven't seen one of those in years.

Ah ok.
So whats the story behind the black belt editions?
How did they ever see the light of day?

Black belt and Rainbow (and countless others) were just hacked bootlegs arcade boards that added in various things.

Also, couldn't Akuma/Gouki do air fireballs in (regular) Super Street Fighter II?

Wasn't Akuma in Street Fighter Alpha?

Akuma made his first appearance in Super Street-Fighter 2.

And you can do hurricane kicks in mid-air in the PS2 version, just make sure you pick the SSF2 characters.

Hmm, I haven't seen Akuma in the PS2 version, can you select him as a character to play?
