Take-Two Interactive Software announced today its financial results along with some exciting news for many Xbox gamers. The New York-based publisher confirmed that Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is finally coming to Xbox in the third quarter of fiscal 2005, that is between May 1st and before July 31, 2005. The Xbox version will launch with a simultaneous release of the PC version of the title.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the next installment in the gaming franchise that has sold over 32 million units to date, including over 13 million units of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and over 11 million units of Grand Theft Auto 3.

UPDATE Take-Two Interactive has just confirmed that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for the Xbox and PC will be in stores in North America on June 7th, 2005 and in Europe on June 10th, 2005.

Woo.. seems so far away, but can't wait - I haven't even played the PS2 version yet (and flatmate won't buy it for his PS2 since he wants PC version).

I nearly bought a PS2 for this game and I'm glad I never bothered now :D

I don't mind waiting a few months, at least there will be something good out in the summer, every other game that looks tasty seems to be due out in March.

nice one, PC version for me.

I've never played GTA3 on a PC before, are the controls mouse/keyboard or would i need a joypad?

Put it this way I was barely progressing on the PC and on the Xbox I'm flying.

My p2 version got traded in today for Tales of Tales of Symphonia. First P2 game I had bought in the 2 years since I got my Xbox. Found GTA hard to play with it low res graphics, Long load times and crapy frame rate. Going to wait and get the Xbox version.

I'm hoping for an online mode. What happened to the GTAIII online hack? Did that work in the end?

That said I still don't own any GTA games

Probably no reason to have a PS2 anymore, apart from Gran Turismo 4, which may well turn out to be crap anyway.

Well the Xbox version of vice city has the best graphics etc. Even better than the pc one. So here's hoping San Andreas is the same.
