Hello guys,
Am very down, I got home last night, saw the missus was out, sat down to play a game or ten of HALO 2 and discover to my horror that my headset is broken.
The stupid clip that connects the boom to the head band thingy has snapped.
anyone got any ideas of how to solve this heartbreaking scenario without it costing me loads?

It's very good...much more comfortable than the regular one (especially if you are like me and wear glasses) and also means you can sit back too. Its much lighter and the sounds seems clearer. I like it a lot (but i think its only worth it if like you, youve got to replace your old headset anyway)

It's strange that you would mention glasses. I do wear glasses. How did you know? :suspect:
I'm going to have to get on of these then. I've got to say that the problem of wearing glasses and leaning back was starting to get on my goat somewhat. Thanks alot for the advice.

No probs
Apparently MS will replace snapped ones for free. I use headphones when I play, and put the headset under the left ear headphone.

I feel your pain, I snapped mine last week  Whack a bit of superglue on it and Bob's your uncle (for a day or two til it snaps again)

sellotape to stick it back together? apparently game sell replacements for ~£6 as well :)
why pay £6 if you can get it for free?
Mine snapped as well last week - it's been less than 12 months so I'll probably ring MS and ask for a replacement. Bloody stupid design...

good point.
just incase they don't replace it, £6 is a lot cheaper than the halo 2 green ones.
Anyone got any decent pics of the halo 2 headset, does it fit right over the head similar to call centre headsets, i dont really like the way the standard version fits.

You can try using a handsfree headset from a mobile phone - I'm using a plantronics one at the moment which just clips onto my ear - sounds fine - not sure how great the mic is though but i can't hear that...

I thought the £6 was the same or similar to the MS one and not a better one

I emailed MS and they told me to call the number posted above and that they may be able to replace it under the one year warranty if I have proof of purchase.

pass on that then..................(
its less than a year old...but i have no proof...
i recommend the game "own brand" one - available instore for 6.99.
over the head with completely adjustable headpiece and adjustable mouthpiece.

Far more comfortable and it's more like a traditional headset meaning you can lean back.
I'll probably ebay my unused ms one.

OK i just phoned xbox customer support and told them my headset was snapped and that I was told to call them. I said it's less than a year old and so is my console. Gave him my Xbox serial number and my name etc and was told to expect a replacement headset within 5 days no hassle at all with receipts or anything so cheers to whoever posted the email and number
