View Full Version : Who's got a VCS2600?
I have! Ha ha you are all so jealous.
Oh you have one too,
What games have you got for it?
ME :D
Boxed with instructions, both paddles, both joysticks and the Combat cartridge!
I've got pretty much all the major VCS games too, must have around 50 of them.

Erm.... I've had one for over 20 years. Not exactly a major victory is it?
Gold star for Coolhand then(!) Nobody ever said anything about a victory :cuckoo:
Even after all these years they're still good fun to play, and quite rare in mint condition.

I've got a few (for spares) left over from when I ran a retrogames business, they are great fun with 2 players as seemingly every game had a 2 player option. Personal favourites include maze craze, mario brothers, dodgem and outlaw!
I like playing a little one on one with VCS basketball plugged into my 5.1 and 50" plasma screen.
Take that Roger Bevin who wouldn't let me play on his VCS when we were 9. Roger, you can come round my house anytime and watch me play 'the empire strikes back'. NO! you can't have a go !!!!
I bought one when they 1st came out.
Paid £99 for it, and about £30 a game.
Sold the lot for about £100 or £150 ish few years later when I upgraded to my Atari 800!
That had 16K of ram and only cost me £650 !
Had to take out a 2 year loan to pay for it.

I have a 2600 and a 7800.
I fondle them in a retroactive way sometimes.

Pitfall 2 -- now that's a game
Whatever happened to Silica Shop, anyway? Closed down long ago, I assume?

ET - now that's a game!
I'm amazed how many games you can still get boxed and unopened. I'm not that amazed about ET though (retracting my early statement) they made more games than consoles - doh!

I got my VCS 2600 from a local electronics discount store, but all my Atari 800 stuff came from the Silica Shop (Before they got big)
It was in Sidcup and the only computer shop for miles and miles around.
Hint - I had to drive about 50 miles on my moped to get there! and I live in the middle south east of england.
Bought (over a few years)
Atari 800 - £650
Cassette Drive - £50 (I think)
96K Floppy Drive -£300 (down from £512!)
Accessories and many games carts.
