I picked up Pet Shop Boys - Montage from Virgin yesterday. The disc refused to work in my Wharfedale 750s, LG 4710 and PC DVD-ROM drive.
I've had it swapped over today and the new copy is doing the same too. Has anyone else got this disc yet and if so, is it working.
It looks like it could be a dodgy batch to me... :(
Unfortunately i've ordered the R1 from absound for £13 so can't tell if the R2 has faults. Will post if the R1 does the same though.

Unfortunately, it works on my player. I say 'unfortunately', because this is a complete travesty of a disc, with a truly appalling technical presentation visually (although the sound is fine).
Essentially, the concert itself is presented with just about every sort of irritating, sub-LSD visual gimmick you can imagine, for around 2 hours, with no way of turning it off. Unfortunately, this is the entire point of the presentation, as it's a 'Montage'. It's a pity, because a straight recording of one of the concerts would have worked far, far better.

hmmm...
If they offer me a refund when I take it back next week, I may well take it!

I saw some short clips on the official website and it does look abit of a mess. Might just record the dvd to mini disc and get rid of the disc soon as if it's all the way through like that.
Yeah, I had to return my first copy of the DVD back to Virgin because it just wouldn't load on my player. I've got a working copy now and I thought the visuals were ok, although the quality isn't great. I intend to post a review of the disk on DVDTimes by the end of the week.
Noel M without going into too much detail and ruining your review what are you initial thoughts on the dvd? I have it on order from absound and still have time to cancel if it's crap.

I think the DVD could have been a lot better. I wouldn't cancel it because it's still reasonably good nonetheless. I've got back to work on my review and it is now up on DVDTimes, so you can see the full review here (http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/index.cgi?page=Review&id=387&story=2393).
Great review Noel and agree with all your points made in the first few paragraphs. I don't think they are giving the credit that they really deserve but thats a intirely different subject altogether.
Although it looks like they have tried to make an effort with this release it looks like a backdrop for a karoke session. Why couldn't they have released a concert only version instead? I'll make my mind fully when I get my copy I think.
Not to sure of the line "‘Was It Worth It?’ or were the Pet Shop Boys just ‘Being Boring’?..." though......:D
