You sure thats the tin? the release date is 24/01 but they have it as 25/10/2004 (despatch in 5-7 days).

It's the same thing. If something wasn't cut for the theatrical release, it won't be cut on DVD.

It's the same thing. If something wasn't cut for the theatrical release, it won't be cut on DVD.

Unless the rules have changed since I last heard, that's not accurate... I agree that if it's not cut on the theatrical release then the likelihood is that it will be uncut on DVD. An uncut theatrical presentation is no 'guarantee,' otherwise films that have been certified for theatrical presentation wouldn't need to be reclassifed for home viewing... The BBFC believe that home viewing of a film is a more 'intense' and 'powerful' experience, so on the rare occasion a film that was uncut on the cinema is cut on video.

I've already got a really nice R3 version (unwatched - but I saw it at the cinema AFTER I'd bought the DVD), but I've bought this Choices one for the T-Shirt.

One Oldboy DVD coming up as a trade on the forums, end of the month.
I've already got the Korean 2 disc R3 and the Ultimate edition, but I want a T-shirt so ordered this one too :nuts:

A little update for you - I've just seen the sample T-Shirt we've been sent and it is large size. Please note that this is a sample and until we receive the T-shirts we won't know for that they will all be the same size (we did a similar thing with Spider-Man 2 and when the T-shirts arrived they were all different sizes). The T-Shirt features a white Silhouette of the infamous image of the main protagonist holding a claw hammer above his head. The Old Boy title is written vertically to one side of the picture. Finally 1 sleeve has Tartan: Asia Extreme printed horizontally across it.

Just ordered Oldboy, the page still mentioned the free t-shirt, so am I guaranteed one? Or will they be allocated as they're shipped?

In any case, can I please ask for Xtra Large, or Large if there are no XL's (assuming they're different sizes like Spider-Man 2)?

As far as I'm aware, we have 100 to give away so there still a few left. They will be allocated as ordered (unique sku id) and replaced with the DVD only once sold out. The only time it will be difficult is around the 95 - 100 mark if we don't take it off early enough and sell more than we have.. (Hopefully not though! :D )

I'm just holding a copy brought up from the warehouse and it does indeed come in a very nice slipcase with a shiny reflective pattern across it resembling the "present box" featured in the film.

Hi Reef,

I have spoken to the product managers on this and to date we have only received a set of samples from Tartan. This time it is very awkward as we have been sent a boys version t-shirt and a girls top version in medium and large sizes. These will be packed in Jersey and therefore it will not be possible to select different types and sizes per individual order. However last year we had different size Oldboy samples and when they actually arrived, they were all medium size. We shall know what we've got in the first week of April when they arrive and I shall update you on the situation as soon as we know what we have been given. Pre-orders will start from tomorrow once the product is live on the website.

I enjoyed Shiri although I'm not sure it's deserving enough of a purchase. I would recommend renting it because I don't think it has very much re watch value
