Doh! I thought we were both going mad. Yes I did see it on the telly for the 17" and it did say £229 with £329 crossed out. I think we should stop editing posts ;)

I've got the Syncmaster 510 MP, which is the 15" version and it has got both scart and s-video. Bought this from PC world for £199 about six months ago when i price matched with Dixons.

Hmm.. OK my bad. The Samsung UK website wasn't clear on this but Google was better.

Yes I saw it on the tv at 229. I phoned PC World and they say as far as they know it is 279! I am waiting till i see the advert again, did I make a mistake?

The advert is for the 15 inch one not the 17. It clearly says was 279 now 229. Or perhaps there are adverts for both but the one I've seen is for the 15 inch.

I've seen the advert twice this afternoon on chl4 and it's deffo the 17 inch for £229.

But the no scart and a 25ms response time is a bit of a pain.

if it has no scart then its not a samsung, becasue the samsung ones do have a scart.

Samsungs onsite spec on this model only mentions the inputs to be: Analogue CVBS/S Video. But I downloaded the user manual and it clearly shows a scart on the back.

Nice one KiNG! :)

Its definately a 17" TFT/TV for £229 as I saw it twice today. Anything about trading standards on this? Dell allow themselves to ignore misprices online but Im not sure about on TV?

I have just seen the advert again and now there is no mention of screen size. Looks like they have edited it!

After call the customer service line three times yesterday and having two operators and a supervisor confirm that they too had seen the very same ad that we all have(with the 17" @299). I went to my local PCWorld - Beckton.

To cut a long story short I eventually got the duty manager to check the price and then was told once again that the 15" was 229.

So I asked if he'd like to see if I wasn't the only one who had seen the advert.

Que: Logon to thedvdforums

Upto this point I'd probably seemed like a right chancer. But after reading the thread he offered to call head office to find out what was happening. He also told me that nothing had been mentioned on the update email that each store gets if anything like this occurs. And IF the 17" had been advertised @229 that PCWorld would probably honour the price to those who asked as they have done so before with printers etc.

So now I'm waiting to hear from him as he promised to call me to let me know what happening......

I'll keep you posted.

Well I hadn't had a call from PCWorld all day so at 6.30pm I left to pay them a visit. Shock! Horror!
The manager who I spoke with yesterday had already left for home by the time I got there, so I had someone call him at home. He claimed that he had tried to contact me during the day. I on the other hand know that I hadn't had a call from him.

The relayed message amounted to: that he had called head office once again (apparently) and once again nobody knew anything about the 17" being advertised @229. The claim is supposedly being investigated by someone high up but that was the end of it.

So once again PCWorld lives up to it's own high standards.......NOT!!!

I'd like to thank Stuart Nunn(?) of PCWorld Beckton for not calling me when he said he would and PCWorld itself for completely checking its adverts before airing.
Good Work Fellas! LOL

At the end of the day I went and bought one anyway because I can't be bothered to hunt around anymore. On the plus side I didn't notice any ghosting onscreen during action sequence and the picture is very sharp and bright. The viewing angle is quite big too which is a plus :)

Forgive my ignorance, but can this be used with a PC and are you able to switch between PC and TV quickly ? Cheers :)
